This finale had me in tears. So amazing!

I'm obsessed with this song. Smash has the most amazing songs.

It's a tv show called Smash about the making of a musical called Bombshell.

I seriously wish they didn't cancel this show! Like wtf?! SO good!

The way Ivy plays Marilyn as an actress is spot on. However, Karen's voice matches Marilyn better. Go listen to Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend. Marilyn Monroe's voice wasn't all that powerful, and Ivy tends to belt in every song.

When she first started singing this song, I thought, "stereotypical motivational song." However, by the end, I loved it and wanted it on my iPod immediately. I'm Team Ivy, but Karen did a stupendous job.

I had to sing this song today as my Glee Audition and I loved it ~ Placed First and qualified for nationals!

As a fan of Ivy but as fan of both Megan and Katherine, This song is Mcphee's al the way. She did a beautiful job and I love her voice when she belts.

This never gets old!

This song was obviously written for Karen! Her voice, her different textures and tones Made the song. The writters are truly spectacular. The instrumentation is absolutely extraordinary and complents Katherines voice. I see her making it big time from this. The season finale solidified her star power. Her voice is phenomenal and people are just seeing the peak of her career. Big things to come, I cant wait! Thank you fir posting all these tracks!

Hey fans, it's only just begun. Katharine, Shaiman and Wittman, Jack Davenport, Christain Borle, Debra Messing, and the show itself will rake in the trophys come September. Once that happens the rest of the country will be compelled to watch the show. I am buying 10 copies of the season on DVD and giving them as Christmas presents. This show is real TV magic and the rest of the world needs to know.

this song is EVERYTHING. so many tears while she was singing it!

Very inspirational song. it has a lot of meaning to it, how throughout life there will always be people who will never appreciate who you truly are and they will always want to change you to have you be what they want. I think that this song tells that kind of person and how you need to be yourself and not want to change for anyone's sake.

The season finale came out on my birthday. And watching this episode and listening to this song make me just cry. It's just so beautiful.

I just finished to see again this serie. And in fact, the serie finishes with the season 1. No need to see season 2. I won't see it. Now, I download this soundtracks and i listen them in my car. Just I love Marylin. Just I love Broadway. Just I love Smash Specially, SmashSongs1. Thank's to you Thank's to Theresa Rebeck to create this beautiful serie.

The cutest part is (not just the fact that they look SO good together and have such electrifying chemistry) but the fact that he was the ONLY person who has believed in her from the start even when she didn't believe in her own self. If that's not love I don't know what is.

The line is actually "let me be that star" . You can get the sheet music and if you understand what she means by that last line you'll see it makes more sense.

Katharine is a trained musical theatre actress. She graduated from the Boston Conservatory school of Musical Theatre.

I can't understand why people don't understand that they are both talented singers. Ivy (Meagan's) voice is too heavy for this song. Karen (Katharine's) voice is lighter, pure... It fits for this song and role which she totally owned! And to the comment below that her voice was getting tired. That's ridiculous. It's called using her voice and making fit with Marilyn's. This was Katharine's moment and she shined. It was a complete SMASH and I loved every second of it! Stop listening to it of you
