SHHHH! Don't even mention that, you know he will actually do it! Let's just leave it at Verum Rex, the lore already ressembles a game of cat's cradle.

Worth noting that Sora's Final Smash has him literally closing the door on Super Smash Bros.

It's fitting that Mario, the second most recognizable mascot in the world after Mickey Mouse gets to summon a keyblade to bring Sora into Smash.

In some sense, Sora represents unlikely crossovers in games, due to how Kingdom Hearts came to be. So it makes sense for him to be the finale of this game of unlikely crossovers.

A square Enix guy and a Disney guy were on an elevator together and that is how we got to this point.

Using the inkling as a daruma was pretty good. They made sure to show the first trailer where the smash logo was only in one eye, and then filled in the second eye with this trailer. Journey complete.

you do know it would be impossible to make a sequel to this game and carry over everything they put here right? with some nay contents why you want a sequel already? and in a bigger perspective, what's the issue with you zoomers in wanting a sequel already 5 minutes after a game is released? this isa genuine doubt of mine

Seeing a Let's Make a Sequel would be interesting! You just CAN'T top Ultimate with all its current content, so I think the next game (if there are any) will be a reboot

@@Jiam26TuGfa123 The best argument i've heard is to go the SF3 route and find a way to only include new characters at first. But they'd have to dig kinda deep for the rep they'd need at this point.

Sora's reveal felt like reuniting with an old friend you haven't seen in years.

Sora was like a ray of hope in the reveal. I love it.

If it were to happen, then I would go for a Tatsunoko vs. Capcom-ish route because if I want a Disney Fighter, then go for the 2vs2 Tag Team Fighter route.

Out of all the reveals, this, was the most perfect one we’ve had. The perfect way to end this game’s lifespan.

Since the days of Smash Wii U, my top three most wanted fighters were Sora, Inkling, and Sephiroth. Since then I've graduated high school and now we have all three of my dream characters in the game. I still can't believe Sakurai managed to pull this off. Hopefully Sora in Smash pushes Disney to acknowledge Kingdom Hearts in a bigger way, especially in terms of the parks. The ONLY Kingdom Hearts merch I've seen at Disneyland is a single pin of Black Coat Mickey, and sometimes the people there even mistake it as a Star Wars pin. Hopefully some day we can have Keyblades and Heartless pins, as well as perhaps a land based off something like Radiant Garden with a Gummi Ship ride.

I still have a number of criticisms regarding the roster, but I can respect what was accomplished with it. It’s going to be hard to top Ultimate roster-wise without bringing everyone back, if it’s even possible.

Yeah, I honestly think the best move would be to just update Ultimate for backwards compatibility on future Nintendo systems, and if they want to make a new Smash game, have it be its own thing with an entirely different roster.

Did anyone notice that they removed Goofy and Donald from Sora's Dive into Heart and replaced them with the boat and star fruit?

That hidden Mickey in Sora's Keyblade alone probably cost a fortune to have it appear in Smash.

When this happened, I was not very hyped about it. I could care less for Sora, much less for Kingdom Hearts in general. But I was still impressed with the fact that they could add him into the roster regardless. Pretty bitter sweet ending to me.

"All he would do is shoot things." Snake. Bayonetta. Joker. And you could easily make an accurate Doom Slayer moveset without the gore. Because again, Bayonetta. A character who is uber violent with literal torture finishers, who was toned down for Smash.

Bayo translates far more naturally to a game like Smash. Sure she's got the BDSM finishers but she's also from a character action game built around ridiculous air combos. She can rocket jump off an enemies face before juggling them with ice skates, whips, swords and a half dozen other weapons. There's plenty to do with her even without the torture element. Doomguy on the other hand is all guns and dismemberment. To give him a melee moveset would take away every move they could use from the source material, every move they could give him would be too violent. While they could make him a gun based moveset, it wouldn't be a very faithful representation of how he plays in his games due to the difference in perspective. Bayo even toned down still fights like Bayo, she just has one element of dozens removed. Doomguy would need half his fighting style dramatically altered and the other half presented in a way that doesn't match his games at all. Snake got such a treatment but Snake also has things like CQC and his boxes, to still feel like Snake. A side view gun focused Doomguy with no ripping and tearing just wouldn't be Doomguy. It would be an interesting playstyle and between his 2016 and Eternal arsenal there is plenty to mess with but guns alone likely wouldn't translate from FPS to side view well enough to capture Doomguy and the Slayer's fighting style would have to be toned down so far it's not even the same moves. How do you tone down tearing someone's arm off and beating them to death with it, or tearing a leg off and impaling its owner through the face? How do you translate his melee combat into a game where he can't dismember enemies when that is literally all his melee combat is? Bayo can juggle enemies with melee combat all day long without even bringing her torture attacks into the picture while remaining 90% faithful to how she plays and fights in her games.

@@zeroattentiongaming820 The answer to how you would translate that is easy, include the moves but not the effect they have in the game. Snake has a move that is basically him breaking his opponent’s neck but they don’t react as if that’s what happened and Joker’s All Out Attack switches the blood splatter with stars so Smash already has examples of moves staying exactly the same but with the impact being different.

People that don't even like KH are at least impressed. I'm going to said this now, I have never liked Kingdom Hearts. I tried to play it and it was boring. I don't like when people say "it gets good halfway into the season" and KH is the video game equivalent of that. That being said, I'm not mad, but more impressed that he got Sora into the game. I had no real deep wishes left since they already gave me Terry (and Dante is already a costume), so I just wanted the last character to be fun and have a legacy that deserves to be in the game. My first choice would have been Crash, but this feels like the right way to end it. Highest voted character and he's known for going to different worlds. Plus my wife likes KH so I'm not mad. Well done Sakurai. I'm very impressed.

Why did they have to make it seem like it was dark souls in the beginning? I had already come to terms with the fact that Kazuya most likely took the Bandai Namco spot in fighter pass 2 and they do this to me! I mean I heard the leak, I was 90% certain it was going to be Sora AND THEY GOT MY FUCKING HOPES UP. I can’t really be mad, My most hyped character (Ridley) was released in base game and Elden Ring is just around the corner but COME ON IT LOOKED JUST LIKE THE DS1 INTRO.

Smash is light? YES!! Nintendo Twitter? Not so much

Glad they left out as much of Disney as possible, Sora is a video game character, the Disney characters are not, its important to spotlight the pure video game aspect of KH.
