Thank you, thank you, thank you. My Samsung V3 hub started dropping zigbee devices so I would reboot the device and the zigbee devices would be online again. I did this every few days for a month or two when one day all devices were offline. I could reboot the hub and the devices would return online but eventually the devices would only be online for an hour or so. I borrowed a Samsung V3 hub from my son-in-law, he wasn't using the hub, and performed the "hub replace" function. I gotta tell you it worked flawlessly. What a geat feature. When my old Smartthings hub was dying I was studying the Homie hub process but am now planning on staying with Smarttings. I have been using Smarttings for many years and don't want to learn another system. I have performed a factory reset on the old hub and haven't been able to get it to connect to Smarttings. I think this hub has failed. Anyway, thanks for this video. It saved me a ton of time.

I have plume software coordinating 3 version 2 hubs. Thinking of upgrading my main control hub to version 3. Any thoughts on how to do this. Was planning to unhook the 2 supplemental hubs and upgrade with the replace command. Don't know if main module has all the z wave and zigbee drivers. Under the impression that plume only works to give better wifi coverage. Any thoughts?

It sounds like you might have the SmartThings Wi-Fi mesh router with plume, WV525. I could be wrong but I do not believe that hub is able to use the Hub Replace feature. I would encourage you to go to the ST Community Hub Replace thread and submit a post inquiring about compatibility. I believe only the 2015 SmartThings v2 hub, the 2018 SmartThings v3 hub and the Aeotec hub are supported. Here is the ST Community Link: community.smartthings.com/t/new-hub-replace-feature-for-smartthings-hubs/271726?u=buds_smart_home

Thanks for the suggestion. I did get a hold of samsung support smart things. He suggested leaving the version2 plume hubs alone suggesting they were equivalent or better at wifi distribution. So i hooked up the smart things station. Did not try and port anything over to it but did use it to sign up a kasa by plug to it. So i think i have matter compatibility with my system using the new smart station and cross compatibility with older z wave devices and can use them in automation routines. I have a version 3 hub which i will not use on this home.

Any reason to think aeotec will release a new version of the smartthings hub any time soon since it's a 5 year old product?

I asked that specific question, whether they plan to upgrade the current hub. The response I received was that there were no plans to upgrade the hub at this time.

Is there any advantages to get an Aeotec vs a Smarthings V3 ?

The only difference between the Aeotec Smart Home Hub and the Samsung SmartThings Hub V3 is the branding. That's since both products are identical; the only difference is that the hub is now manufactured by Aeotec rather than Samsung.

Yes. I am using a Zemismart Matter Down Light (Ceiling light) and the Eve Matter Smart Plug. I am working with ThirdReality to make a video on the Multifunction Night Light that is an RGB Night Light with a motion and illuminance sensor. My next video will feature the Linkind Matter Smart Plug.
