I have smart things setup with My Qled, and shows the sources, ambient mode, and guide, but the section where it supose to show apps are blank, and says im not on same network which i am. Why aren't apps showing up in this app, but their showing up in smart hub?

I get notifications from my Ring and Samsung cameras on my 2020 QLED TV, but can't figure out a way to get Notifications from other SmartThings devices such as door sensor or motion sensors. I read where Samsung appliances can generate Notifications, e.g. dryer done... any idea on how to add the ST device Notifications?

That’s great. Mine says the TV is assigned to another ST account so I have no idea how that happened but it tells me I can reset it but I can’t find this reset anywhere on the tv.

Without having one here to test I would be guessing. I’m thinking the last time I did that you needed Samsung phone. You can see if you can upload some photos to the cloud and pull them down on your TV. I don’t have the time support.samsungcloud.com/#/login

Yeah I know, I find that this feature is somewhat useless.

Question: Would anybody happen to know if there is an alternative if Samsung TV does not have Smartthings app or hub? I have a new Samsung TV but seems it didn't come with that app.

hey tech steve. So i was able to download the smart things app to my apple iphone and setup my samsung 4k tv (version 6 series) to the app. I am trying to figure out how to share screen/screen mirroring from my iphone to the tv. I go to connection guide > mobile Devide > smart view and I pulled down the notification panel on my iphone. When I click share screen, I don't see an option for the connected samsung tv on my iphone. Do you have any suggestions or a video on how to share your screen from an iphone to a samsung tv? thanks!

@@TechSteve Hi Steve. Thanks for replying. My Samsung 6 series TV does not have "remote access" as an option. So I am unable to connect my macbook wirelessly to the Samsung. Secondly, i downloaded the smart things app to my iphone, connected the tv, it recognizes the tv and vice versa, yet, I still can't share screen from my iphone. Please help! is it an Apple thing? Does my macbook and iphone not work with screen sharing to my older Samsung TV model?

@@TechSteve I also have the same issue, under screen mirroring there’s just a spinning wheel where the TV is not recognized. And in the app I don’t see any option to pair to the TV, it only serves as a remote control. Our tv is a Samsung series 8. I’ve tried multiple devices and it used to work but now it does not. Please help!!

go with ru7400 instead of ru7100 and yes you can connect it with your inspiron using the 1.Hdmi Cable 2.Screen mirroring (windows 10)

Noo noo i am not talking about it I am talking about tap to mirror feature which you have to enable it from smart thing app than tap your mobile against your tv and you are in...make sure to use mobile that have nfc built in... I think it is cool feature which only comes with samsung Televisions.

Hello Steve I got a question outside the scope of this video. I have a Samsung series 6 tv, it worked very well when its hook to the cable box Spectrum, lately it was loosing the connection to the internet I workout that problem some how. I replaced the mode and router on advised from Spectrum it was over 5 years old. I replaced the ethernet cable that connects the TV and router. The connection to the internet got worst, I replaced the cable that connects the routers to the TV, it did not resolve the problem, I called Samsung they got me entering the IP address manually, it worked for about a week. My Samsung remote control when bad, i bought a generic remote control GE, I was able to connect to the internet for about two weeks then the problem retuned, called Samsung, they told me to use the KZread apps and Netflix apps, I did it for about a week now the TV is not able to connect to the internet not matter what I do. I can not connect it via wifi because the keypad does not show for the password. I try downloading the apps SmartThing I can't find the TV, I just got the basic apps, do I need to buy the full apps? Thanks

@@TechSteve Thanks, tv says press right and we have nothing. Tried left, nothing. Unplug the tv and plug it back in . . . same thing. Screen just shows the initial message to press right . . . so frustrating. Yes, batteries are in the right way. :)

why the only function i have here is on/off, there is no remote and keyboard?

I recently bought a 65" Samsung Series 7 Smart TV. The picture quality is close to QLED levels, but there are notable quirks: 1. You can't easily adjust color and tint (C/T), for example, as those functions aren't readily available on the remote control (RC), and no menu button exists. Substituted is a tiny "Settings" (S) button at the bottom-left of the RC. Using S is needlessly complex because one has to go through hoops to adjust (C/T, etc.), as one has to choose what kind of picture he wants first, "Dynamic," for one, which can prevent you from even using the (C/T) controls on videos from your File Explorer download folder/s. I contacted Samsung to get this resolved. It wasn't, even after 3 hours on the phone with one of their technicians who remotely accessed my TV. If you know how one can ALWAYS access C/T, etc., and easily, please leave a comment -- or demonstrate how in another video. THANKS, Steve.

I may be wrong but I think that phone only supports casting not screen mirroring. You will have to test a bunch of mirroring apps in the play store. Have fun with that.

Sounds like you should get a new TV if that’s important to you.

I’ve had my tv in smartthings before, hadn’t used it in a long time, and it unregistered. So now trying to add it back ain’t working, I press Samsung >TV>Start then it says “turn on your TV using the remote control” while my TV is indeed on, what do I do?

I downloaded the smart things app on my phone and connected it to my tv however I cannot find the app on the actual TV? I have searched the App Store and still cannot download the TV app. The reason I want the app on the tv is to connect my ring doorbell to the tv for on screen notifications...

Are you using the same freq as well. Example 2.4 GHz or 5Ghz that must match as well

The wifi disconnect with the TV goes into standby mode. Terrible design and most TVs do this.

If you are using Windows 10 or 8, make sure your laptop is compitable with Miracast! On windows 10: On the taskbar click on notification icon and select connect On Windows 8: Go to the side screen or press Windows key on the keyboard and P at the same time select wireless connection

@@TechSteve i found a fix, i factory reset and tried, but it didnt work from the beginning, i had to set it up with the remote and then try to connect again, and it worked. model was samsung un43nu6900fxza. it ended up not allowing me to listen with headphones from my phone anyways, which was the reason I tried all night to get it to work :(
