    yes lol, your right. Ive had this car almost two years now and it seems normal to me, of course I always use the paddle shifters while driving. But I Rem on the first test drive I though it was broken, hahaha. Still get around 40-43 MPG even in heavy traffic.

    Love this car. Just picked one up. But I had to toss the skinny little front wheels, it made highway driving and general handling feel way too unstable. So Im now running two rear wheels at the from with the same 175/55/15 tires that I got at a junk yard. Wow what a difference! I'm keeping it till it dies. Then I'll recycle the wheels on a newer model if they're still around when I'm done with this one.

    Dang! I was wrong. Finally found the brochure showing the options for the 2011 Fortwo. You are right, power steering was optional. My apologies. As to the differing tire sizes front to rear, I am going to have to dig up my source. I recall it being due to the car having a tendency to oversteer. They reduced the front tire size to produce understeer, which is safer - easier for the average driver to handle.

    no worries, now we both def know for sure about the steering. I gotta say tho, other than in tight parking I love the steering feel at speeds. Also as an observation, I've noticed the front tires wear extremely slow compared to the rear tires. Not complaining either, only one manufactures makes them and they are pricey all around.

    Such a great and I Informative review buddy! I like this car very much and I am thinking of buying one of these to get to college.. Just some things I have noticed: In some of these models the steering wheel is different from the one you have.. is there different editions or its completely random which car has which steering wheel? Also I have noticed that in some cars there's a touch screen instead of buttons etc and there's also a rev limiter and a clock on the dash.. these things are considered Extras and are optional?

  • @hybrid32494

    @hybrid32494

    hey buddy!! You're right about the slight steering wheel differences, it has to do with the trim levels and the years in some of them. Mine is the PASSION, so it has the leather covered wheel, with paddle shifters. Try to look for only a passion trim level, otherwise you won't even have power windows or a radio. In terms for the RPM (tachometer) gauge and the clock, those were optional on the higher trim levels, usually the Leather interior models have them. The touch screen is the nav system in the newer models, have not seen many of them for sale.

    You may want to do some research before your vids. The reason for the narrower front tires is NOT because of a lack of power steering. Also, the convertible does not have a removable top, but a retractable one. Finally, the Passion comes standard with power steering. Now it is possible it was ordered without it as yours does not have the panoramic roof either. Other than that, very good video! I can hear you clearly, the picture quality is good, and you covered some good details! The floor height is something I never noticed :)

  • @hybrid32494

    @hybrid32494

    Im pretty sure that power steering is not standard on Passion models for this year. I read that the majority of the convertibles do have power steering but not any other models. In terms or physics, it is correct to say that thinner tires would be easier to steer due to lower friction (are you denying this)? . Nonetheless thanks for watching and the comment..

    hey bro! are you using the AUX plug in the glovebox? that is the AUX input for this car, it does work, I have tried it. I think you're trying to use the cig style plug under the dashboard, am I right? So it will power a charger but I don't think it can recognize AUX audio input, that is your issue here. Needless to say I mostly listen to FM radio, lol. You need to try this amzn.to/3gIAziG. This is an AUX bluetooth adapter, it will work for audio directly thru the car's speakers for you.

    hey buddy! I still own this car and have had absolutely ZERO problems with it. Keep in mind I do my own oil changes and always check everything thoroughly. The oil changes are very easy just buy a 5 quart jug of MOBILE 1 synthetic and a FRAM synthetic oil filter then use a 30 dollar oil extractor pump to suck oil directly out of the dip stick hole (yes it works). Then just pour the oil in, there is a video of me doing that on here if you ever need step by step info. Otherwise the car is pretty solid if you purchase a good low mileage one to begin with.

    If people would learn how to drive this car properly they would understand it, it drives like a manual. Once you feel it start to change gears let off the gas for a second, and then press it back. This is how you shift a smart car yes, you have to be more involved but, it gives you control. And who does not talk about the buttons at the Smart car has on the tip of the gas. The smart car is not fucking slow if you learn how to drive

    +Ivan T Check the oil and the coolant in the front of the car. This car uses mobil 1 synthetic oil and needs to be changed every 10,000 miles. Just make sure its clean and the engine isn't full of dirty oil buildup on parts. Also these cars have brake light switch issues, apparently it can cause the ESC light to be on and sometime you cannot shift from park. Any small issue is relatively obvious on these small and simple cars, so you'll know right away when looking and driving one. good luck, let me know.

  • @hybrid32494

    +mybugatti100 thanks, you should drive at least 2 of these to compare how they run, they are very unique cars and if you don't know how a good one runs then you would think yours is broken. I drove one other before buying this one. Check the oil filter to see if its a SMART brand one or some aftermarket one, mine was SMART. Check the coolant level upfront, otherwise leaks are obvious on this car, engine is tiny. A Smart oil change is around 150 from the dealership, a high mile one could show signs of money saving oil changes, these cars can only use MOBILE 1 synthetic.
