I have been fishing quabbin for smallies, salmon, and lake trout for about 10 years now and my father has been sense the late 60’ with fly rods and absolutely love the place I can’t wait for opening day every year. Very special place.

Fantastic video! Congrats on sayin things how it is. I am 100% in the camp of "this is God's world", and I agree, anytime I'm out, it's time to talk to God and the peace that comes from being out there is always worth it. Life throws all sorts of crap at us, and fishing has helped save me over the years. I sincerely thank you all for not editing out the REAL conversation and meaning behind all this. Catching fish, while exciting, in a way, is just a bonus. Spending time in nature, with friends, with God, is worth every second. I hope I got many more years to go before He calls me home. Thanks Turtleman and Chris for a honest, special episode.

Thanks guys for one of the most heart worming shows you have ever done. Turtle man you are very inspiring and have got me to want to do some site fishing for smallies witch I will have to give up some turkey hunting time. I haven't had time to use my ranger in 2 years. I've been saltwater fishing but that's going to change thanks to your show. I haven't forgotten a thing of how it's done and where to go ,in Mass. God Bless you Turtle man.

@@codymilner6890 All of Quabbins' motors have been upgraded to 4 strokes. in 2016. You should visit more. There's no more "pissing gas"

@shakeyfly Agreed...but worth it for 8 lb largemouths, 6 lb smallmouths, state record sized lakers, and pin fish sized salmon pretty common....AND you live close by....

Hey how did you get to fly a drone in Quabbin? That is typically a big no-no.

We got a permit for us to fly the drone over the Quabbin from the Mass DCR and I'm certified Part 107 Drone pilot for commercial filming. Like the Turtleman said we made sure not to put go pros in the water as that's illegal (we did ask for a permit for go pros in the water but they didn't approve that which is understandable). Thank you for watching the show and if your gonna fly a drone over the Quabbin reach out to Mass DCR for a proper permit. -Adam at OTW
