I built one for my wife as an anniversary gift. She really likes it. I just finished building 3 more to sell for grocery money. I'm a recent retiree, turned woodworker as well. Thanks Ronnie for your great ideas and videos! They've been a great help to this newbie woodworker.

My advice for what it's worth... About Building: build projects that you're passionate about. Whatever style or type of woodworking that satisfies you, do that. About Selling: find what is selling in your area. Look on FB Marketplace to see what's up for sale. If you find that what is selling is similar to what you like to build then build one better than the others. When I say better, it can be you take more time picking out better wood, sanding, painting, and changing up the style a little to stand out. Things like that. The fact that you're still in high school and have this desire is commendable. Take action and apply what you learn and you'll be far ahead of the vast majority of people out there. Watch a lot of KZread videos about the subject you are interested in. See what is a common theme and apply your own twist. If you need tools but don't have the money yet, offer to mow lawns, clean up yards, or borrow a tool from family or a friend. It all comes down to how bad you really want it. Determine that, and then you'll have the motivation to go after it. Don't let anyone discourage you! YOU can do it.
