Small wooden parts tumbler sander 55 gallon drum
My redneck wood tumbler that i made using a 55 gallon drum, electric drill and some scrap wood. Use it to tumble sand small hardwood parts. Works much better than sanding by hand.

We used walnut shells, corn cob abrasives , silica sand and oak shavings for the abrasive. Probably a combined amount of a half gallon per batch. We also have small blocks of wood randomly screwed in the barrel to help tumble the oak blocks.

Possibly, I tried some larger pine and it beat the pieces up to much for must applications. Aspen might work since it's a little harder then the pine.
