Probably the first fly fishing video where I found myself in complete satisfaction while watching someone enjoying their outing and not being green with envy. What a pleasure the video was. Thank you.
This is my favorite kind of fly fishing, dry flies on small streams! Love it, Thank you! 😊

I agree and the one he started on is among my favorites.
This video just made it to my homepage! Very cool. Scott, the first guide is my dad and Harry is a good friend. He enjoyed this trip a lot and still tells stories from it.
It’s great how well you treat the fish , especially with the barbless.
Yeah, I know that Orvis shop right on Main Street. Lived in Sheridan (and Story-Banner) for 12 years. Fished creeks and small lakes all over the Big Horns and Goose Creek down into town and the Tongue River to the north near Dayton-Ranchester. Wish I was still back there.
I love watching videos on my home town
LOVE this channel! Amazing content, bucket list places and GIANT fish caught on the fly. The New Fly Fisher has inspired me to muster up the courage to start my own channel to share my experiences - thank you guys!! I look forward to seeing more of your great videos!
The intro with the drumbs! so epic! and such a good video!!!!!
I know exactly where y’all filmed. I’m glad you didn’t give the exact location; finicky fish in finicky streams. Favorite episode yet!

Absolutely agree! The NTR is special and needs to be kept a secret😉
Mark, that big brown you caught was mad because up until you came along he was the big dog, Now he's not. Good show and I'm glad to see one I can drive to. Keep the good stuff coming.
Thanks for sharing another super video with us.😊😊

Glad you like them!
Hope to get there in mid July. Doing a bike trip but bringing a 5 wt rod and some flats shoes....Beautiful fish.
"Do it yourself fishinng..." Most of us just call that fishing.
🔥
A shame those cutties were caught before and not properly released seeing the mouth flap turned in their mouths. But they survived it and its great fun those smaller streams pocket fishing.
I stayed in Sheridan while on vacation. I couldn't fish, and it hurt me so bad.
The fish are missing mandibles. That tells me they are being caught a lot.

Well mike considering that the one who had a battle wound is on a piece of water on private land I’d say you just like to talk alot
This is my kinda place
How easy is it for someone to be able to do a DIY trip up there? Are there resources to help us know where to fish on public land and what flies could work?

Recommend you call Fly Shop of the Big Horns in Sheridan, they can give you advice on this.
did you realize that you caught the same fish twice? the second and third are the same fish!
Tell me what is the optimal class of tackle (rod, cord) for fishing on such streams?
@newflyfisher

probably a five weight rod with a weight forward floating fly line. cheers
Can someone tell me why this guy keeps putting his rod and reel I’m the water?
Curious which orvis rod is he using?

Mark was using a Orvis Helios 3F rod in a five weight, 8'6" length for this small stream fishing. Hope that helps
What time of year did you go here Mark?

Newbie here, what weight of fly rod??
@newflyfisher
3 жыл бұрын
Mark mostly used a five weight rod in a nine foot length.
What Helios 3 rod were you using?
@newflyfisher

They were using Helios 3's in five or six weight. For those streams, a five weight in a 8 to 9 foot length is ideal

Drew, not sure, recommend you check with the fly shop in town.
Wyoming Isn't Real ,
This way of fishing is irrelevant, it doesn't make sense. On such a small river, why do you need an assistant, a "guide", to cases fish with a net? With this way of fishing, the fisherman and another unnecessary guide, fishing loses its meaning. If a guide is required, it should be unnoticed, on the shore behind the angler, it should not enter the water. To me, it’s a big distraction for a angler.

Guides are great for people newer to the sport not only to find ideal spots to fish but also to help in technique. Also some guides have local connections for more "private" the general populace doesn't have access to
