Small Guard Finishing Key & Workout | Creating Contact and Angles 🔬

Спорт

As a shorter guard, having strategies to finish around the rim is key. This is one that you'll see often. These guys aren't smaller guards at all, but this technique applies to everyone, so I figured I'd try it out with them. Give it a shot!

IT used that same move in Boston when attacking the rim. Love it! You can tell they’re being stretched by all the misses too. This is where the results begin to grow 🔥

Bruh Darnell Rogers is fucking 5’2 🤯🤯🤯 Im 5’5 and anyone over 6’3 is INCREDIBLY difficult for me to score on. Much respect for Darnell.

If you watch players like Aquille Carr, Chris Lykes, IT, or even Kyrie they have such great body control and core strength to jump into a defender cutting off their ability to block the shot and then absorb contact while extending out to finish. I found an effect way to train this was like shoulder bumps or jumping into a wall and extending laying ball into the wall - practicing the feel of in air bump and contact bracing/control. Then using like an mma pad or football pad and having players jump into my jump while hold the pad and then extend to finish.

@@joshmann7587 what? Of course I watched. Just when alone there are ways to train the same things or introduce players to in air bumps off court. Some players aren’t ready to bump in air on a court or lack a trainer/partner. Simply mentioning that we’ve done this same thing at camps or with players in alternate ways isn’t bad. Good luck bro.

Any discussion on upright dribbling stance for smaller guards, looks like some of the best (nash, kidd) dribbled this way to maintain balance and be ready in a shooting/passing position. Would be interested to hear the science of the upright dribble
