The moment he almost tears up telling the last Rocky Balboa story, and breathes deep and stops.... The girls instantly took 2 steps back in respect of that moment. Sly raised them well. Another win, champ.

I love "replacing old pain with new pain". When my brother died, I joined a gym membership and started pushing weight hard. I call it distraction therapy. Any emotional pain I felt from grief, missing my brother, was but a splinter compared to the grueling physical torture I was putting myself through. Now, I'm not afraid of emotional pain anymore, now that I know how to handle it, to embrace it as part of life. I'd rather feel emotional pain than feel nothing at all.

This whole concept of the daughters pod cast and interviewing their dad is so unique. Without this dynamic of the podcast, we would never see this side of “Rambo” or Rocky…there is a perception we have of our idols and how they get interviewed over the years. But to have your daughter’s interview you and great interviewers at that. Really opens a side we would never ever see. Sylvester, thank you for being so open with being vulnerable and sharing so much in detail about your past. I had no idea, I’m sure a lot of us feel the same. You accomplished so many great things, it’s mind blowing.

Watching this for over an hour I am so humbled and full of respect for this man. How many parents go on about what they've learned in life and their kids can't wait to leave the room. Only a real man can have adult daughters who hang on to every single word he speaks. Every. Single. Word. Then they finish with 'we love you and would die for you'. He can die happy that he did one of the most important things in this world: Be a wise father who passed on character and real values. Until recently all I knew was he's an action star. I never knew what a great man he is until I saw SLY and this. Seeing him and his family shows you the fruit of his life. So much heart. So much wisdom. He's my new hero.

The part of Rocky’s character I love most is the way he is with Adrian. The way he patiently but persistently wins her over is the best, including the cheesy jokes. I couldn’t imagine a better relationship between a husband and wife. They compliment and balance each other SO perfectly.

Listening to this podcast reminds me so much of my best friends experiences. He grew up in Australia in a very abusive home, he left and joined the military (Australia) and eventually met his beautiful wife in California. He became a Special Forces Medic, and later became an officer and PA (Physicians Assistant). He has 5 beautiful daughters and listening to Sly talk to his daughters is exactly like listening to Drew talk to his girls. Hardship can make for very successful people "if" they can get through it intact.

First off being a lifelong Sly fan I absolutely loved this Unwaxed Episode. Sly has always been my favorite actor since I was a kid right up to the present. He has always represented optimism & fighting for your dreams to me & millions of others. The only thing in the "Sly" 2023 documentary I felt was missing & also from this unwaxed pod was talking about his son & your Brother Sage but ... as someone who also lost my Brother I understand that some things are too painful to talk about. I discovered over the passage of time tho that talking about him honors him & keeps him alive but that might just be in my case. Thank both of you & Sly for this podcast. It is truly a gift to us. I wish your entire family the very best life has to offer.

Love is the most important emotion when leveled in a proper way creates a beautiful soul. I have 3 children who stay away from me because how I was raised affected them. I've been an "irrationnal" fan of Sly for 40 years. I've watched this interview for the second time (I wish I could click on the thumb up twice 😄). By asking the most accurate and the cleverest questions to their father, Sistine and Sophia have offered us what I consider the most important thing I've seen about Sly. I've red, watched and listen to almost everything about our idole since the 80s and, this is by far the most moving, the most fantastic, the deepest thing I've seen about Sly. Thank you, ladies, for this amazing gift which is, to my opinion, one of the most important document ever shared to understand him. I'm moved by the fact he accepted to open his heart like this. Love from Belgium (Liège)

Dear Sly, back in the 80s, I was this teenager writing and sending letters to national newspapers (in Belgium) and some of them were published! With those letters, I absolutely wanted to explain people how Rocky, Rambo and yourself were "more than meet the eyes". It was like an unstoppable urge to tell my reluctant fellow citizens they should take a closer look to discover the obvious sensitivity behind the icon... I've been an "irrational" fan for more than 40 years and you will never stop amazing me! This podcast is gold! Thank you, Sophia & Sistine, for this priceless interview! Love from Liège! 🥰

I’m glad he broke the abuse cycle. The way he talks about his gorgeous wife makes me have hope in love. I’m 54 and have never known that. I’ve broken away from the toxic relationships in my life. Mr Stallone I really believe that you would be an awesome mentor to so many lost people! WE HAVE SO MANY POOR SOLDIERS DYING WITH PTSD. WE HAVE SO MANY FATHERLESS KIDS THAT WILL ENDUP IN PRISON OR ARE ALREADY THERE!! How many like myself and billions can relate to your life! Your greatest legacy as I see it is your children and wife! Yes your magnificent works are true legacy’s but the measure of a life is the love you give and teach to your family! It says in the Bible the sins of the father and mother go 3 generations! Praise God your generational curse has been beaten. (God is truly the only one that has helped me endure last 29 yrs as a quadriplegic widowed mom of 2 precious little girls.). I enjoy your new show and the live one (lol whatever they call it these days). God bless you and your family. Love ya Shirley 🙏🏻✝️🥰😘

Note : I seen Rocky at 6 year old, as a kid the last thing I wanted to see is a movie about a boxer; about ten minutes into it; I was transfixed, the character was a kind like me , nobody really like Him, He loved dogs and turtles and He was left handed; everyone around Him was dismissive, thinking He just in the way. A family member once told me at Thanksgiving, that maybe I should just end myself! So now when people say to me Happy Thanksgiving, I say you it's Thanksgiving, to Me its Thursday ! I could never explain in words what Rocky means to me in words to Stallone, just Thank you and I'm glad you fought for making Him and playing the part of Rocky yourself, also the facial paralysis you got at birth made Rocky more believable, thinking maybe your disability was an Advantage instead of a disadvantage, that's a mind blower right !? All may best ! A.V.

Today (Nov 21st) is my 52nd birthday. This podcast is a wonderful gift. It is brilliant! I’ve been a huge fan since I was very young. We continue to learn more about Sly and his incredible life experiences. He’s inspired and motivated millions of people around the world. I had the honor of meeting Sly in 2000 and 2001 in Toronto. He was very kind to my wife and I. It was something we’ll never forget. He is the perfect example of a self made man, an inspiration to all. Thank you Sly for teaching us to never give up, to keep moving forward. Keep punching!

It is always interesting to see someone take an awful childhood and use it to make something so meaningful. The documentary made me see him in a new way!

Such an interesting interview! Not only do I like Sly's movies, but I also like Sly as a person, especially hearing how down to earth and open he can be. To hear everything that he has been through, and he still managed to make it to the top was truly amazing. His daughters did a great job interviewing him, and I loved how surprised, and touched they were about hearing some of the things their father told them. I enjoyed the whole interview!

What a fantastic interview! I loved the documentary on Netflix and this interview by 2 of your daughters is even better. Such a deep and vulnerable conversation that was so enlightening. Your daughters ask great deep questions, a great job they did. I love the fact that Sly likes happy endings, I do too. I cannot overestimate how much I love the Rocky movies. Sly, you are such an inspiration and hero to many. Your own personal story teaches us all how to rise from pain and abuse, persevere through trials and tribulations, push forward through grief. Thank yiu for your transparency and honesty. My heart goes out to you for the loss of your son. I could see the grief on your face while talking about how hard the.journey of grief is. By the way, Rocky Balboa is a FANTASTIC movie. Such great words of wisdom in it too. You are more loved than you know as your honesty and vulnerability helps more people than you will ever know. God bless you and your whole family.

I’m only about halfway through this podcast and I’m loving it. I really admire your father for his being able to talk about his struggles in terms of his abusive childhood. I too had an abusive childhood and I’m only coming to terms with it now. Listening to people who have had success in life, yet are able to be honest about these things is so helpful to me. I really appreciate this podcast. Many thanks.
