In this video, Cesar from Phenix rods teaches us how to tie up assist hooks with a vise for slow pitch jigs. This time, we used 155lb PE line with a mono core and attached to a solid ring and a swivel.
Also talks about the benefits to using a swivel!
Big thank you to Owner for donating everything we used throughout this series, and for the opportunity to put something like this together!
Also a big thank you to Cesar for taking the time out of his day to teach us step by step how to tie all the assist hooks in this series!
Thank you all for watching, I hope you enjoyed this video!

What I've learned over time... You gotta stick with things. It takes time to master anything, stay patient, stay humble, keep learning.
What I’ve learned from these videos is that that it is way more complex than it thought, like the tackle needed for different types of jigs.
This is my favorite episode in the series
Patience and practice and preparation make your fishing experience 1000 times better 🤙
I've learned so much, but the one video that really stands out is the flyline fishing video you did with Ceasar. I've watched it 3 times and have changed my whole approach based on that.
Learned so much, but I've watched your flyline video with Ceasar 3 times and have changed my whole approach to it. Thanks!
Probably one of the most informative channels on YT! Ray you are the man!
When I was starting out, I learned how to pair my reels and rods for fishing on 1/2 day and full day boats from your videos.
Learned that I do not need to spend a ton on pre-tied assist hooks! I can now tie my own 🤙🏼
I learned so much about why glass rod tips are perfered for live bait as opposed to graphite tips.
I learned a lot from this video such as that different jigs require different hooks and sizes
Thanks for taking the time to put this together and spread the knowledge.
1 of many things I've learned watching your videos. Is you don't need the best or everything. Just to get out a fish.
Definitely learning a lot. Enjoy all the knowledge you and ceasar have. For me personally I started to watch your channel to learn all I can on equipment I need to take the next step catching those bigger fish. Booked a couple 1.5 day trips and 3 day trip for the end of summer. Thanks a bunch
I learned in this series that thick, not thin, super glue is the hot ticket for assit hooks! Good series; Thanks to Cesar and Owner.
It was your videos that I based my yellowtail arsenal on. Through it I was exposed to depth of techniques.
I’ve learned a lot of tips and tricks from your videos, but honestly what I learned of value is time spent with your dad, i hope when my son gets older we can share memories like you and your dad.
All the videos. It’s great seeing everything you do and bring all this knowledge together
Having a plan and having everything ready makes for a significantly better fishing day than one without one
I’ve learned a lot from your videos. In particular your bluefin jigging setup video helped me catch a huge tuna thanks to you advice. Tight lines brotha.
Thanks for all the info, I learn a lot with every video, keep them coming, can't wait to apply everything I've learned out on the water
I have learned how real your surface iron in from all for your videos.
Congratulations to SoCal winner
Always lots of good content! This series was particularly helpful since I had no idea how to make my own assist hooks. Thanks!
These "How to" videos are the best!" Studied all your tutorial videos to start deep-sea fishing in earnest this year.
I love your flyline series and learned and it was a great way to Kickstart my ocean fishing knowledge.
Learned that sometimes if u wanna catch big fish it’s just a straight grind at the rail
Nice to see how to tie your own assist hooks Ray. I’ve been using one hook on top and at the bottom but after hearing say more hooks is better I’m going two on top and two on the bottom👍👍
Good info. Thanks for doing this series. I learned more hooks for slow pitch is the way to go!
I've learned so much it's hard to pick just one thing...keep up the great content!
Great video. I learned a lot from all the assist hook videos. Thanks
I learned the approach of offsetting the dual assist hook. I'll be trying this.
Something I've learned from watching Dirty Hookers: probably should have gone with the Tranx over my Komodo for throwing jigs with the 9' rod 😂 But that's fine! Asked you awhile back about the differences between these two baitcasters because you've used both in the past. I'm an Okuma guy so went with the Komodo instead. No ragrets!
Awesome video, I learned on a past video about the proper way to butt hook a bait when free lining it.
Thank guys learning a lot from you two can wait for next trip out!
That was interesting i never seen that way of tying the assist cord to the hook , i learn a lot in this series thx.
I'm excited for the reel maintenance video. Do a series of different brands, please

Congratulation, you won the prize pack from this video! How can I get in touch with you, do you have Instagram?
One video that really taught me was your “finicky flyline” video and your yellowtail and tuna flyline videos they really taught me a lot about flylining and helped me with me own rods and reels much love ray keep it up🎣
Keep up the great work brother.
Again, solid help here. Now put some knot tying and rod reel combo videos out.
That didn't look so bad. Look I learned I can make my own assist hooks. Thanks!
i learned how to properly use a slow pitch jig technique for bft
So many rigs, so little time to try them. I'll try to change that!
Great series of videos. Can you list the products used in each video. Also love the surface iron series.
Nice💯💪
I've learned that jigging is way more complex than I ever thought it was. Hooks, and shape and terminal tackle matters more than weight to determine how to effectively catch. Also At what size fish would you stop trusting this type of tie up?
Using lighter line with heavier leader
ayo a lure
When you talk about what is working right now.
cheaper to make/rig your own jigs assist hook :D
Been fishing over 56 yrs and the thing you taught me over the last year is that I really didn't know sh!t 🫣
