I had one of your videos saved in my baby tips playlist 🤔 and I watched it recently. As a new mother and soon to turn 40 woman, shopping my closest is my new goal in life. I just shopped my husband's closet for a fourth of July outfit and I am going to look so cool in a Oaxacan made button shirt. I also packed 5 items for a weekend trip for our shared birthday/anniversary trip and I am more excited about mixing and matching the pieces than the trip. I am so glad I added that video to my baby tips playlist. Subscribed for life! My outlook on clothes is forever changed.

What hit me the most was to shop for your lifestyle! When i was in college i used to go out a lot, and of course i bought and had a lot of partywear. When i finished school and got a job i realised i was still shopping for party dresses, tops, skirts and i wasnt even going out nearly as much as i did (kinda sad now..haha) so i kind of re-evaluated what my current lifestyle was and what i actually needed in my closet. I have a much better and useful wardrobe since then! Nice video

A great video and great list of questions to ask oneself. I'd just add the fifth question: haven't you a twin of this piece already in your wardrobe? I tend to buy "new" pieces that later appear to be basically the same, with small differences in color or details, with 2 or 3 ones I already own... I love them, they fit and I look great in them, but!!! My wardrobe gets filled with twins, triplets and quadruplets...

My problem is that I love so many styles- Edgy, Classic,Casual, Preppy, Sexy.....How do I pick just one? My moods vary and I tend to dress based on how I feel that day. Is that normal? How do I pare that down?

dawn hendrickson dawn hendrickson hmmm Dawn this is a great q and I think so many of us dress this way! Totally normal. I think perhaps it has to do with nailing down the underlying qualities (more personality vs style) that you want to put forth always. Confident? Playful? no matter your mood/style, make sure what you add to your closet always makes you feel that way. Also - I think styling tricks and accessories can help shift a look from Edgy to classic to preppy etc without adding - hmmm you've given me a new video idea!! Hope this helps :) but honestly simply being aware of wanting to pare down is an awesome thing! thanks so much for watching xx

I have tweaked my sound since this video, and I use more visual examples in my other videos, but I also love Daria from the Wonder Wardrobe :) She offers great advice too - whatever works for you! Daria is good; however I find her method too complicated. Her examples are also not practical for people who live in the country. I'm visual and ADHD, so no long examples and complicated formulas. Also, visual boards and such are too complicated for ADHD people.

So Alyssa disappointed in hearing that old statistic. Who did that, what was the sample size and how long ago was it done? Hmm American women ... style wow where to start jeans, chucks, jackets, everywhere I look it’s all about our fashion, food, etc etc
