Slow Downhill Tech Is Outside My Comfort Zone, But Also Why I Love Riding it!

Спорт

Today we're riding Mammoth and some of the harder trails at Sentiers Du Moulin on the SDM - This Video is sponsored by Quebec City Mountain Biking - who brought us out to explore five impressive trail networks. One Region Five centers | Our Itinerary ➡️ www.quebecvelodemontagne.com/...
Sentiers Du Moulin - Or SDM is the second stop on our trip (it was supposed to be the second but it was very rainy the day before). SDM has two completely different sections; the Maelstrom side with Wolverine, Magneto and Slab City and then the Original SDM side with King Kong, LBC, Viking and now Mammoth. To get the full experience at Sentiers Du Moulin, you need to spend at least 2 days in the area, but three would probably be ideal.
For Lodging we stayed at the Manor Lac DeLage by Empire 47 which was about 20 minutes away. We Ate at Chez Boub, and At the Buvette right at SDM. In the past we've also stayed at a Cabin on the Maelstrom side and I would recommend that.

I love the Hailey clip. We jump to her and there is a sign that says "Danger" and she is laughing before proceeding. She definitely leveled up on that rock roll.

having just come from Remy's latest video, would love to see you ride with him sometime. I bet yall would do some wildly fast tech rides! also the algorithm has shown me some like 6 year old videos where you rode with the singletrack sampler and I would love to see you collab again, you're two of my favorite youtubers and you both have such good vibes, makes me want to get out and ride!

Sick looking trails. Slow tech isn't my jam, but I like the variety and the idea of learning a new skill set

Just back from my first trip to Whistler. Two days. I brought extra pads for my breaks, but didn't put them on after Day 1. My inability to slow down on Upper Joyride led to a massive crash on the steep rolls, and a runaway train on the last long slab. Pretty much ended any tech riding after that.

Wore mine to the spring on a long ride and ended up with the spring pulled half way through between the pad and rotor. Ditched the spring and the brake worked fine for the rest of the ride. There is enough wiggle in the rear disc as you ride to push the pad out of the way. The spring is not as important as you think and there is enough material left, when it is out of the way, for a couple more rides.

As an amateur trail builder, that amount of rock building makes me drool. It takes me roughly week to get a fifty foot section of good rocky tech trail built. So fun, but so time consuming

  • @SkillsWithPhil

Agreed. People really underestimate how much time goes into rock work. Searching for, moving them to the work site, and then laying them out are all really time consuming stages, and it's really tiring. The processes is slow and frustrating at times, but usually worth it.

How come no one uses like the recycled rubber planks for the "Wood"? Would 1million % be more grippy and wouldn't rot out. There has to be something other then "wood is easier" that I am not thinking of lol Edit: Iv seen like chicken wire wrapped wood features, not really sure how much that adds for grip.

Honestly they aren't as bad as people make them out to be. I'm not saying they are my favorite, but they definitely work fine for most of the things I'm doing with this bike.
