Pause around 1:35 then you'll see the tell-tale white '3000' sticker under the Omega badge and left of the '24V' one. So it's a late-model 3000 as they got the 24V-Upgrade around 1990, I think. Thats because during a long time Opel was just the european filiale of chevrolet.
The biggest problems of "slow cars" and mostly old cars that were cheap, is the tire width, if you put wider rims and tires you can increase a lot the cornering ability of the car. And second thing is the suspension, if you put stiffer suspension and harder roll bars you can make them even better. Just check how good the ban at 8:13 handled the turn with better tires and a racing suspension.

I recall pushing my sister's Citroen AX to the absolute max on the freeway. 140 km/h felt like 240 km/h in that thing. I would have loved to have taken it to the Nurburgring to do some serious cornering.
Awesome Upload! I Enjoy the Slow cars Slightly More! lol
Lada Niva, Carlton GSI and that spotlessly clean looking white Citroen AX were my faves! Also some love for the BX and the multiple old Volvos!

Y the AX was my favourite
”Straights are for fast cars, corners are for fast drivers”
The Saxo at 3:00 was my favorite, damn that lift-off oversteer looks amazing!
Actually based on the N-ring observation many of these older and/or cheaper ordinary cars handle hard driven corners better than many modern wannabe sporty cars with too many electronics... This vide is a great proof of that.
Я ждал момент когда Нива на бок приляжет🤣🤣

Some of these aren't even slow cars, just old lol When they came out they were considered quite sporty. That Opel is an Omega 3000, the top of the line Model you could get directly from Opel at the time with 204hp. Sure that's not a lot by today's standards but this car is from the late 80s... Then there's that Xsara VTS which has 167hp. That is well in line with other hot hatches of the time like the Golf IV GTI or the 206 RC/GTi

Don't forget the similar-looking (Vauxhall) Lotus Carlton. Hardly a 'slow' car, by any standards. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lotus_Carlton

precisely. people have no idea what "fast" or slow" is in a car, they just look at numbers on a sheet of paper the original Miata had 116 horsepower and though it certainly wasn't a beast by any standard, it was far from "slow". it still had a higher power to weight ratio than many of the old Z cars, and even quite a few of the 70s pony cars. also, you don't need a lot of straight-line speed when you never have to slow down for corners, hehe

@@grahamw56 it's not just similar looking, it's the same as the Lotus Omega or Opel Omega A. They were just sold under different names in Germany and the UK. I meant the Omega 3000 was the top of the line model with an Engine designed and produced by Opel. The Lotus Omega/Carlton has a Cosworth Engine and was one of the fastest production saloons in the world when it was released, only bested by the Alpina B10 BiTurbo

Not only are they fun to watch, I'm pretty sure that all of them are great fun to drive. One of my favorite cars ever was a shitbox that could barely break most speed limits. Loud and driven to the max made it exciting without risking even getting a ticket.
Couldn’t help but notice that beautiful Porsche flat 6 howl behind the renault at 4:21
I can never decide if the passengers holding up their phones in vertical mode are filming a rubbish video vertically instead of horizontally or if they are shopping or browsing the Internet.
Hell yeah! I would totally ship my manual Hyundai Elantra '09 in germany to try the famous track! I love this little car

best video of all time. The Twingo overtaking the Porsche - says it all!
The Omega that was shown, is not a slow car. It was the Omaga A 3000 24v with 204HP.
Some of these 'slow' cars have the telltale signs of a RollCage - which tells me that they aren't as Slow as we are being lead to be believe.

The Corsa A definitely had one installed.
I have only ever done one lap of the Ring - it was in an 899ccm Fiat Seicento. Was a (14min) riot. And yes, nearly binned it at Adenauer Forst!
1:26 Omega 3000 24V was my first car 20 years ago, but in black. Love it in red too.
But bro, 2:14 #turbobox isnt a slow car, wtf...
The best was the BMW Vectra at 5:20
That was awesome. More!
I wouldn’t dare to drive the amaros like this, what king!
Some look like "slow" the basic model but aren't,the first volvo spin the wheel exiting the corner, the vw van must be modified too. Saw a vectra A,memories bring me back on 2014 when i got there with mine 🙂

That VW was definitely modified; I drove those things back in the 90s and they were very softly sprung (would lean to one side on fast corners). However, what gave it away on the VW was that the diff appeared to be welded - the driving wheels screeched through the turn in a way that looks (to me) that the inner tyre was trying to rotate at the incorrect speed.

What about the Lada Niva with custom wheels? It probably also has a track-prepped suspension (since it didn't tip over)? Either that, or the driver's steel balls were weighing the vehicle down to keep it planted haha
