Thanks Shane. I will have to try the backwards motor running on a few of my Slot It group C cars. One that got smoky and a newer one that just started to lose speed after being my go to Group C car.

Good morning down under. Nice hints there, Shane. I think the problem with the Motor could be the coals which are grinding off and the dirt from it probably is disturbing the clean run, leaving a small burr. You could also remove the Motor in that case and put it for a few minutes into a mix of Isopropanol alcohol and destilled water (100 ml accohol and 200 ml destilled water), to clean it up and let it dry for about a day afterwards. But you have to run it with electrical power in that bath and remove the pinion before, to run it with 6 Volts in that glas, or cup. 5 - 6 minutes will do. I do that after I broke any Motor in, besides a Carrera one (too cheap) and put it into the bath then. That removes the rubble from the coals and the dirt, which is loosly flyin` inside of it. Maybe that helps. Have a good one and greetings from Northern-Germany 🙂
