Wow! Very nice. It’s hard to find academy’s like this in New York. Most of the schools are sport jujitsu. The students walking around, thinking a tournament will prepare them for a self defense situation. This is an excellent video. Osu

Bro I spent 8 years at a Sport Jiu-jitsu gym and once I took Muay Thai i realized this approach is unbalanced.

If your goal is to take him to the ground, why would you throw a couple of feint punches, back up, and slip his punch and shoot and take him down? Why not just throw your two feint punches, drop your level, shoot in and take him down? In your scenario, you have the possibility of getting nailed by his punch backing up to come back in.....

Champ, thank you for the reply. But as you should know, I he best and easier time to clinch is NOT when they are stopped waiting... , ask Chuck Liddell about this game.. but once they are throwing, their base is NEVER as solid as when they are planted and stationary/ And also, I have personal experience with this scenarios in professional fights and also street fights since a kid. All the best

You want the opponent to come forward before you shoot, if you throw 2 punches then drop levels they might back away too far to shoot in

You want the opponent initiates first (haymaker, jab or kick) which means he comes forward to you. Use the momentum, change level, shoot. If your opponent backs up, you can't shoot, except, when you throw your punch he stands still do nothing, you can change level and shoot. That's why haymaker on the street is very easy to counter, the attacker comes forward rushing on you with a haymkaer and all you have to do is duck change level shoot double or single.

Nice takedown. Now imagine you do this to someone in real life and instead of a mat it's concrete. Fight will be over real quick

So Gracie learnt a complete Martial art ( strikes, kicks, throws, ground techniques and self defense against weapons), removed everything but the ground techniques, add "Brazilian" in the name, and now that people noticed that sitting in front of your opponent will get you killed outside a mat, they're giving self defense classes..with strikes, kicks and weapons... Bruh
