Well here we are with the long weekend in sight. Barry dropped by and helped me get the motor in and I went ahead and started to get everything hooked up. But the troubles didn't end here. Follow us along as things come together.

    Great stuff. Will you show how you align the inner primary chain? The book uses a math formula. Not sure that works with aftermarket parts.

    LOL Yay for having to re engineer aftermarket parts, are we making $2 dollars a hour yet? Your attention to detail, and putting the time into making sure parts work together, shows your a Pro. Good Job Ralph!

    Yes you have to check every thing and make sure it is right and not take anything for granted. It is extra work but I only try to make sure it's right before installing it.Thanks for commenting.

    It concerns me as to the state of some aftermarket parts out there . That being said the people in your area are sure lucky to have a guy like you with attention to detail Ralf.

    The aftermarket stuff is going down hill these day. Sometime I swear they are just sending our factory seconds. You have to look at it close and double check, and sometimes modify everything. Thanks for the kind words. Just an old guy trying. Thanks for commenting.

    Clobber the thread with a chisel. Then the thread will tighten up and stick. You are running an early sporty spin on oil filter. It was also early big twin

    Yes the filter is early sporty and shovel type. Thanks for commenting.

    Put red lock tight on those 2 little screws on the hold down. Those are through holes

    You know a lot more than me but I’m wondering why you are using red Loctite. It seems like overkill, especially where you have a locking tab washer and it seems like overkill for that application and it’s going to drive somebody crazy down the road when they try to remove those nuts. After doing all that work, I would also put in a Belt Drive. It is so much smoother. Thank you for sharing your tips. I always learn something from watching you.

    I just use a dab on the trans nut as I have seen so many worked loose even with the tab as many guys only bend one ear over and think thats good. Never had a problem gettting them off. Love to have put a belt drive in it but its not my bike and the budjet only go so far for each person. I did put one in my owm 81 though. Thanks for commenting.

    Love the video very well informed felt like I was staying there right next to you. Hey is there a way to make sure you have the transmission output gear lined up with the rear wheel gear?

  • @itsmytimeletsgo

    @itsmytimeletsgo

    Glad you felt like you were here, I try to make it easy to understand. If you line the two up, motor and trans, then you should be in line with the rear wheel. Thanks for commenting.
