Slinky Home Makeover!

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

At least twice a year I have to do a complete clean out and makeover of Slinky's home and habitat! This enclosure get outrageously overgrown with the plentiful Florida sun and rain. Today I'm gonna make it look unrecognizably clean to ensure that his monitor lizard has the cleanest stream and coolest cage on the planet!

Kenan... As to your plant question, I think the Split Leaf Philodendron over in the corner is larger because of less competition from other plants. The smaller one has competition all along the side next to the water. But Slinky doesn't care about the green stuff. I bet snakes are one of the reasons he keeps breaking in behind the Universal Rock ! Love the ecosystem ...complete with those tree frogs !🐸

That is quite the project, Kenan! From jungle to manicured. I live in SoCal, I know about plants growing 365, but Florida has the corner on the market of humidity. Slinky’s enclosure is premium, thanks for showing us the bi-yearly major maintenance. You are always working hard for your critters. We see your love and dedication!

Hey Kevin if you want your water lilies to bloom you've got to feed them at least once a month during the spring and summer. Especially with those that are dealing with turtles They will eat the leaves stems bugs you name it Believe we need the roots we can get to him. Its slinky's enclosure you should be able to get tons of flowers and Kate will like that because they weren't getting by the turtles or tortoises for that matter. At best slicky might dunk one of them by accident but they generally flow back up to the surface and they'll be fine. personally I'd move all of your lilies into Slinky's enclosure or into Cayman Creek Where they probably won't get as muchly eaten by marge but you never know She might be hungry for some plant food. but at least sink these enclosure is clear and free of turtles.

Before, after and some in-between footage of the enclosure would be so cool to see. From lush to fully manicured, it’s like night and day! But that’s more work. Who has time to edit anything these days! Nice work though. It’s refreshing to see Kenan doing all that hard work himself.

The racer has a 50/50 chance of survival IF: 1. the racer has sufficient food 2. the racer slithers around very quietly and preferably when Slinky is in his hide. The con to that is you just cleaned the enclosure so Mr Racer will not have such large plants to hide in. Hopefully, he can play his cards right and survive. Racers are one of my favorite snakes. I had a striped racer come in my house and took care of my mouse problem when I first moved to my house. Wish he was still around.

20:28 my theory on this plant, move that small bush from around it: than "air rate" the ground around that plant seen at this timestamp by picking holes in the ground simultaneously around it. It may not be getting enough air flow around the roots by the stock..

The staghorn fern at the collection pond has more tannins that the plant uses to replenish natural minerals that make it grow faster. Upstream, those tannins are moving and leaching out of the soil, harder for the roots to absorb. Healthier roots means bigger plants.

He can throw him from the morning when he comes out of his hide Into the zone light to bask when you feed them if you feed them that day and what it does swimming so on and so forth be interesting to see what's the water clears up what he does for a day. is it something you'd want to do?

I think if the snake shed was from a black racer, it would have left slinky in its dust the moment slinky tried to make him a snack. With how fast and agile racers are, as well as all the foliage, I don’t think it’s likely slinks would have gotten close, especially with how good racers eyesight are.
