Ойын-сауық

After my recent success welding rasps together I decided to try again and this time make a slingshot. See how it turns out and if i'm any good using it!

You know what Gary ! . . I don't care how lousy a shot you are, cause I'm not much better ! . . I do love your shop and I find you yourself, quite entertaining - I also love your casual relaxed style of doing stuff ! CHEERS!

might've been that the rubber bands were causing the wonky shots. If the rubber was fraying unequally on either side, it might've caused one side of the sling to accelerate faster than the other, causing the ball to release inconsistently, since the release mechanism of a pouch is reliant on both sides of the pouch pulling away perpendicularly to the angle of the shot to transfer the energy efficiently/correctly. perhaps look at some of Joerg Sprave's slingshot videos, I believe he mentions the type of rubber he prefers, and he's been making slingshots since all but antiquity. All in all though a beautiful build, keep up the good work, really inspiring stuff!

Great vidoes Gary, As kids we made Catty's (catapults) just the elastic and a pouch (used the leather tongues off shoes) We attached the Lazzy (It was called Donkey lastic, don't know why) and it had a square profile. We attached it to the pouch by pulling it tight and wrapping copper wire around to hold. Worked a treat, used it by holding the two ends of the "Lazzy" and over the top of your thumb. When you didn't quite get it right, your thumb knew about it.

Hi Gary. Have some ideas on the rubber failure and miss fires Your fork gap is to small. As you fire it, there is not enough room for the rubbers, patch and ammo can't fit into the gap. If you open the gap by approx 40% and cut the patch size in half I think you will find a vast improvement. It is a great design and looks the goods. Keep up the great content and look forward to any changes with more videos

I'm a tube man, always use them on my cattys. The tubes that your using seem to large for the catty, try using a smaller diameter. Reason for the rubber getting holes, could be two things. Have you kept the catty in the sun or let it get wet? Light an moisture are the fastest way to perish tubes or flats. Secondly check your fork tips, if you have even a dull edge that cause excess friction and cut into the tubes. Try matching the size ammo to the size of band rig, that increase accuracy.....practice, practice, practice
