Nice, mate. If anyone is struggling to shape the cup, pack of tools etc, I came up with a simple and easy method. You can use hole saws of various sizes with sandpaper or emery cloth taped on and wrapped in a spiral. If you put loads on you can tear off the used bits to reveal fresh layers. Just a quick tip if anyone is struggling for gear. Chris, another great video mate. Looking forward to getting into my first live Q&A with you, sir. Please let us know bro. 👍

A good way to get good contours on wood with hand tools, are riffler rasps. I do a little bit of woodcarving (Lovespoons and stuff), and they're invaluable for awkward areas or curves and contours. Sanding sticks from modelling shops are good too. 👍

Nice one lad......regarding wood absorbing finish ......you do NOT use anything above 180-200 grit ...why????.....because the extremely fine powder generated by finer grits actually seals the grain .....so your finish only sits on top and isn’t absorbed......so when your finish is on...then you can “finish the finish” with super fine grit

@@CatapultCarnage mmmm....I think you’d lose the bet lad.....buffing is polishing off a “finished finish”...it’s not a Hoover .....I know it sounds complex)...not lecturing you.....but here’s the sequence for finishing..... 1) sand with the grain up to 180--200 (u can actually at this stage get a glimpse of what the frame will be like after top coat and finishing by simply wiping it with white spirit/terps....this process acts like a magnified glass to highlight the remaining scratches ....you don’t want a scratched frame????then keep sanding till you’re happy(180-200) 2) then you colour the frame (which is only a colour....NOT a finish)++++ a few coats if required ( reduce colour if u need by a wipe of the relevant solvent) 3) now ....the TOP coat(finish)....it can be lacquer....(single/2 pack) varnish diamond coat..or whatever.... At this point I’m tired...if you’re interested to know the rest then let me know
