I like the middle handle for one handed riding, almost like a hard boom. I miss the Y handles though I got V2s in 3 sizes and that will do it for me for next few years. BTW, I got the 926 wing last week, Thank you!!! just waiting for windy day to try it. Also can't wait for your review of it.

Hey Tomas, You'll adapt with the new long front handle after a few sessions. I'm working on that 926 review now. It should post on the 4h and 5th. -Tucker

@@MACkiteboarding agree with u. I used the Y handles when learning but use the other handles mostly now. But still use the Y as well when wrists hurt. Can't wait for the review. Thanks!

Looks nice. The deciding factor for many "may be" can they live with the handle design... ? So many different options now, from full boom to hard boom style handles, small well padded, long floppy, long stiff etc etc... My initial thoughts are Slingshot dropped the ball on the handles. Will be interested to check your review. All the best mate! 🤙

My review will be dropping on the 18th. Sneak peak.... The handles don't bother me much but I do think it's important to note for those people who are more fussy about their handles being stiff. The long front handle I've found helpful in a couple of ways and I think that is why Slingshot designed them the way they did. 1. When learning, it's an easy transition from the leading edge to flying position when reaching blindly under the wing. The wings with the handles further back are notably harder to find and will result in more difficulty. 2. When surfing with the wing, I find that forward position useful to keep the wing level in lighter winds or when driving downwind. Also helps your field of vision so the wing doesn't block your view of the wave. -Tucker

Interested in your thoughts around the new handle design. Seems the handles should be stiffer and now the Y handles are gone. Maybe with a more boom inspired design Y handles are needed less.. I like that Slingshot does their own thing regardless of other brand trends. But hopefully all the new changes are in favor of a better performing wing. Nice vid..

Hey Matthew, I'll have a "Review" posting on the 18th with my personal thoughts on the design. I do think the handles could be a little more taught for my personal preference and perhaps a little shorter in the front. I'm happy enough with how they are, just nit-picking that you could possibly get a bit more responsiveness with less droop in the handles. I do find that a long front handle can replace the V handle. The only reason I used it was for hand space during transitions but those long handles are easier to find and can be shared with 2 hands so no issues. -tucker

Hey Tucker, have you done any lighter wind testing? Slingshot’s website has a windrange as low as 6kts, which matches the F-One CWC. In terms of light wind, how would you say this wing compares to the F-One CWC?

Hi Jonathan, Be very cautious trusting any brands wind range chart. In my experience, it's skewed. No brand wants to show that their gear is less useful than others. LOL The Slingwing does make good grunt and lift which makes it a good choice for lightwind riding but not quite as agile in light wind as the CWC IMHO. Mostly due to the more cumbersome and heavier design. 6kn is a pretty lofty goal, even for an 80lb pro rider.... Good riders are looking at 10-12kn as a minimum bottom end realistically with the current gear designs/technology. -Tucker

Hey Tucker when Wyatt first reviewed the v3 he said he could use a meter or so less than the v2. The next time he was asked about it he said he could use a half meter smaller than v2. What was your experience power wise with the v3 vs. the v2? Thanks Dean

Hi Dean, For sure it has more power. Hard to say exactly how much but I'd say 0.5-1m difference depending on the size is a fair assessment. The smaller sizes it's a larger percentage so it's important to note that. 5m and 6m do tend to ride about a full meter larger. Part of that is the stiffness and "grunt/lift" so it's not necessarily more "powerful" in terms of riding speed but more the initial "getting up on foil" part. -Tucker
