Slinger Fire Department WI, 5th Alarm Level Pallet Factory Fire Response + Tanker Shuttle
Ойын-сауық
“On 05/21/2023 at approximately 7:23pm, the Washington County Communications Center began taking 911 calls reporting smoke and flame coming from Oak Creek Wood Products, which is located alongside Hwy/I-41 south of Slinger in the Town of Polk. The first responding Deputy observed dark smoke coming from the area while still en route. Slinger Fire was subsequently paged to the scene.”
“Upon the first deputy’s arrival, a piece of equipment and a mulch pile were found to be actively on fire and spreading quickly in the rear of the business. The response was upgraded to the MABAS Box level. Due to the nature of the business and the amount of flammable material, the fire continued to spread rapidly on large mulch piles and stacked pallets, before also entering the building itself, which is located closer to the interstate. The fire response was again upgraded multiple times for additional resources and tenders. Hwy/I-41 southbound was shut down at Hwy-60 for approximately one hour while containment was still being established on the scene. Fire personnel were successful in preventing the spread into the entire building, stopping it in the back portion. The effort then switched to preventing the spread into other mulch and wood piles.”
Fire crews were on scene the whole day of 5/22 as they continued to try and extinguish the many areas that continued to burn and smolder. “These piles were systematically disassembled with excavation equipment and then wet down. There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire or the firefighting efforts. There is no damage assessment at this time, as the incident and investigation are still ongoing.” ~Washington County Sheriff Office Facebook page.

For those unfamiliar with my videos, I feature emergency apparatus responding as well as on scene footage of various fire scenes. The majority of my videos showcase agencies from and around the Washington County area. (Wisconsin)

We had a 8 alarm brush fire here a month ago it was crazy the first crazy fire since the 1980's
Thanks for all the great videos! Washington County has such great fire/EMS equipment and you do a good job capturing it. I was shocked at all the agencies that had to be called,but then again it sounds like it was a fiasco. Favorites in this video are Newburg 1490,Jackson 1291 and Richfield 1990. Keep up the good work.

Outstanding Video! Alot of big tankers(tenders) moving H2O! Hat's Off to The Sheriff's Patrol for traffic control! 👍 During a long operation, we would use Fire Police for that task. I am looking forward to seeing your videos! Too bad another business is lost👎. Your County is ON IT👍👍👍

Kudos to you sir for sticking this call out for the number of hours you spent there. Don't mind the haters, you did nothing wrong in my opinion, you stayed out of the way, and let them do their jobs. -from a Michigan First Responder

2:21 I hope if there’s 1 or 2 fire trucks?
I heard this as it started on the scanner. As more departments got called in, I was really wondering what was going on. Then I googled the address and realized it was gonna be ugly. Didn’t realize we have a Wash county channel. You got my sub.

It’s funny how fast the tankers run out
@karlkrikelis5933

They drop and run. The offload into Porta ponds then off they go. Average tanker holds 2000 to 4000 gallons of water. A master stream puts out 350 gallons a min.

Awesome video. I love sirens but there was a point where i felt bad for the residents living near the incident.. personally is sirens really necessary when your the only ones on the road.... what was the average turn over time????
@washingtoncountyfirebuff
Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! Eventually as the bulk of the fire was extinguished and it got later in the night they switched to only lights. The following day they ran non emergent. I’m not sure what the turn over time was.

The sirens are not only to get through traffic, but, Also to warn ALL motorists ( and bicyclists/pedestrians) of their presence. Being "the only vehicle" on the road makes them 'the exception' ! In rural areas, or M.A. companies coming from a distance, the average motorist may not even be aware of a fire! thus not expecting a responding Emergency Vehicle.

Some departments REQUIRE sirens be in use when responding, not to mention if there is an accident, they can be found at fault if the sirens weren’t activated
@GMan-yv8cb
Жыл бұрын
If you wanna 'feel' for somebody, It should be for the people living 'up the corner' from the firehouse. MOST People may only have 'a huge incident' near their house once in while (if ever), but a FD's neighbor, ALL THE TIME!!
@garkar908
Жыл бұрын
Lots of small towns , they cannot use siren depending on time of night . Old folks supported a ban on noise after a certain time.. In city's however, does not apply Paid departments are buttholes and have no respect for your need for peace
🤔why they going the other way?

Is this a fire video or fire truck parade? How do you videotape a five-alarm fire in 14 minutes? I swear you people think your editing a Hollywood movie. Get on scene setup camera and let it record. I didn't even make it to the end of the fire truck parade in the beginning and I'm bailing
@washingtoncountyfirebuff
Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! So sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy the fire parade! Hopefully I’ll end up in Hollywood with my editing too! I was hoping you’d have some videos up so that I could take some notes on how to become better….. but oh look you don’t even run a channel, what a shocker! Also what makes you think I didn’t have a camera set up at the scene? As clearly stated this was the response and water shuttle aspect, I definitely had other cameras set up so don’t assume I didn’t. Anyways I appreciate your support, hopefully you’ll post some content soon so I can get better and not just film parades!

@@washingtoncountyfirebuff so what happened is they told you you weren't allowed to go up to the scene so you stayed there and tried to just get some dummy footage of fire trucks. Sometimes you just got to push things. Don't let it up to firepolice to decide on what you should or shouldn't record. Also you should fix your title, put down tanker brigade responding to five alarm fire. Again, if you're going to do this you got to be willing to push things
@Rick-mg1nv

Only people allowed at a fire scene are the police, fire trucks and ambulances. You obviously don't know anything about the subject.
