    The Glendola Ladder Truck has four vertical lights on the passenger side of the cab, from top down they’re green, blue, yellow and red. Do they serve some purpose or are they just emergency lights? They don’t seem to be on as the truck is going down the road. Just curious if they mean something if anybody knows.

  • @demonracer2

    @demonracer2

    Жыл бұрын

    Good question! They do serve a purpose. Those lights gauge approximately how much water is left in the onboard tank, so if a crew is operating away from the truck they could look back to see if they have 1/2 or a 1/4 tank of water left etc

  • @demonracer2

    @demonracer2

    Sure thing I would love to! For Monmouth county the first number is the “district” each town is designated a district number, the second is the station within the district, and the last number is the unit type, which here is the explanation of each. 30-32 - Fire Marshals 66 - Chief 67-68 - Assistant Chief 69-71 - Other Fire Officer 72-74 - Attack Engine (Pumper) 75-84 - Class A Engine (Pumper) 85-88 - Rescue/Salvage 89-92 - Aerial Ladder/Tower Ladder 93-94 - Brush Truck 95-97 - Tanker 98-99 - Support Unit So for example the first truck in the video was 52-2-90 52(Wall Township)-2(station 2)-90(ladder) Other towns in the county like long branch or Asbury Park only have one station so they skip the middle number for simplicity and will just response as 25-74 or 83-89. Hope this helps!

    Just an odd question. I live in the western US, so I don't know much about laws on the east coast. What are the rules about sirens? I see almost all the apparatus shut audible warning devices down about the same point. Were they entering a protected area or something like that? As I said, I am just curious. I do like seeing the various apparatus you catch. Thanks for the videos.

    Driver discretion for the most part, I personally use them at little as possible. If there’s nobody to move, what’s the point? With enough sight range, the lights do most of the clearing. Chirp the siren, if clearing an intersection, but don’t overdo it.

    I'm trying to reach out to other KZread communities and start a movement a huge and good one heroes are more important than anyone can imagine they are always need respected and loved unfortunately a lot of people just aren't smart enough to figure out a simple solution to the worldly weather events horrible ones any time there's a disaster people voluntarily come to the rescue ok with that being said places are flooding places are drying out and places on fire disasters everywhere why hasn't anyone rounded up a convoy or a massive fleet of tanker trucks with pumps and hoses go to these flooded lands at a safe zone fill up your tanks save those people then go to the dry and burning lands and unload could also fix our climate by restabilizing broken lands and it's people all together
