the funny part about the anti-magic zone he made is. It block all magic and skills that all humans have with in the zone. so Rimuru can now make them type of zones any way he like. and now his town is going to be upgraded so no one can use any magic/skills that can kill any one in town.

What I love about Rimuru’s character is that though he wants to avoid fights, he’s not cookie cutter either. The usual anime MC would’ve been like “no, we have to find another way to…..” Rimuru on the other hand “oh I have to kill 10,000 for a chance to revive my comrades? Say less” He who is kind but is willing to kill as many as he needs for the sake of his nation. That’s what makes his character so awesome.

I'm in two minds about the character of Rimuru. He'll go the distance for the people he cares about, but does not value the life of anyone else. That would be fine, and I can appreciate that they didn't make him another 'do-gooder' in that sense. But they also made him a huge hypocrit who will rant at his enemies about justice and penance, while not acknowledging that he himself has commited atrocities just as terrible for selfish reasons. If that character flaw was intentional I'd think it was good, but the characters and world around him don't seem to recognize this. Everything in the anime is setup to make him look good, and not acknowledge his bad sides at all. So much so that it almost comes off as cartoonish. If the world actually reacted to his misdeeds I'd be a lot more fond of this anime.

In the manga you can actually see Megiddo leaving burnt out holes on the bodies, like they were pierced by tiny lightsabers. The more you think about it, the more you realize how brutal it is. It's essentially a rain of bullets moving at light speed and targeting vitals with surgical precision for instant deaths.

Slight Correction. Megiddo only summons water droplets and turns them into a focusing lense. The water droplets themselves aren't doing the piercing, it's actually just the consecrated sunlight, turned into a laser beam. Like using magnifying to burn ants, but even more powerful and precise. Raphael can further move the droplets around to the change the arc / direction of a laser beam. Because the light is a natural physics phenomenon, anti-magic cannot cancel it out. Thus Rimuru dubs it physics magic. Speaking of the manga, there's a special chapter from the perspective the soldiers. One of the soldiers sees Rimuru and convinced that Rimuru is God, a cute and beautiful God. The Knight begs Rimuru to spare him because he was only doing this to support his family. Rimuru points out that the Knight had his chance to leave, but the Knight had instead choosen to trample on the lives of monsters-who had families of their own. Thus they are hypocrites and will be slaughtered. The soldier's dying thoughts are essentially that he wishes he could see his daughter one more time, so that he could tell her how God is terrifying and yet surprisingly cute.

After Megiddo started the Knight got hit and dropped a memento from his kids, a locket with a pressed clover, and Rimuru landed in front of him and picked it up. He thought Rimuru looked about his daughters age or younger and immediately asked for him not to kill his family, he never begged for his own life. He admitted to him he knew what the invasion really was and still took part of it so the sin is his, not his kids. Rimuru gives him back his locket and immediately pierces his head after assuring him he has no reason or need to kill them. His last thoughts were that he wished he could have told his daughters that God is real and cute.

Also for anyone curious, the bonus chapter is Manga volume 15, ch. 65.5 - "White Clover at Death's Door" (aka "A white Clover in a Place of Death").

To put the guy hakuro beheaded into perspective. His skill made him see things 300x as fast, that means every second is 5 minutes for him. So when he got beheaded every second that his brain functioned is 5 minutes for him. In a article ive read that researchers seen activity for 10/15 seconds. Quick math 5 minutes x 10/15 = 50/75 minutes. Have fun with this information.

I have to say this episode was so epic I’m glad that we got to see the other worlders and the Falmuth Kingdom get what was coming to them and to see the Rimuru Megiddo moment with the music was just so satisfying.

Kyoya felt like he died 45 minutes straight.

Hakuro and Rimuru just dropping the coldest lines in the whole series, and Hakuro committing the biggest trash talking ever 🥶 Meanwhile the Otherworlders being the clown they are should consider joining the Moderate Harlequin Alliance 🤡 Now, not all soldiers held a grudge against Tempest. There's a side chapter in the manga showing one who had lost his wife and was living alone with his child. When he was talking with the other soldiers, he was disgusted by how they were talking bad about the monsters, and when Rimuru started the attack, he begged Rimuru to spare his child, and when he accepted, he thought "I'd never thought that God would look like a child" The word "Megiddo" comes from "Armageddon" but without the "ar" and "n". Armageddon refers to a bloody battle, and you can guess where this goes. Not even when he was revenging his brethren did Benimaru have so much hatred in his eyes, you can really tell he's pissed. So, the head stays conscious for about 10 seconds after being decapitated and you feel a lot of pain in the neck, and every second for the first Otherworlder that died (can't even bother remembering his name) lasted that passed, he felt 300 seconds instead. So he was feeling intense pain for dozens of minutes before dying. The one with "Berserker" had killed all 30 summoners when he got to that world (remember that summoning people took many people and a lot of time), and the skill Berserker strengthens you for every kill you commit. Yet he still wonders why does he deserve any of that 🤡🤡🤡 "Survivor" grants Pain Nullification, but Geld was attacking straight to his soul, so it didn't work. The reason why Geld was so mad at him was because it reminded him of his father, who ate his own comrades to make him stronger. Even without the last resort attack, Razen is a really powerful mage. He could easily take on most of Rimuru's subordinates and make it out. And there's a mistranslation in the anime. It's supposed to be "Next to my master's Reincarnation, Possession is mere child's play". Megiddo is an attack that relies very little in magic, only using it to summon the water drops, and rather in physics, and in a world where magic is superior to physics, there really isn't many ways to stop it, even if you had superior defensive magic. Now, the way it works is that the water drops act as magnifying glasses, concentrating the sun's light into little beams that are hot enough to pierce through metal. In the light novel, he PURPOSEFULLY aimed at non-vital organs to make people suffer more. And with this, you have just watched one of the best episodes in this series.

The humans in this part of the world never fought anything stronger than probably a stray wyvern every few decades so they assumed that the legends of the monsters of old were exaggerated and that this was the pinnacle of the power of monsters, but in reality none of them ever got into a serious fight with an army of monsters, let alone the true demon lords like Milim and Guy, so they had no basis for their egos and confidence in their power.

That knight asshole who killed Shion was also an Otherworlder. Razen spoke of transfering powers to him because his power is to aquire a power/skill from any people who die close by him. They had always intended on killing those teens and taking their power.

When Hakuro is saying that guy's eyes should finally be catching up with his movements what he's really saying is "I already cut your head off".

So basically megiddo is used by compressing the light coming from the sun and heating it up to thounsands of degrees, and redirecting them using water droplets. Because it uses light it's so fast and if you see the attack it means that you are already dead (because its light*)

That bass drop when Geld stomps the ground is absolutely orgasmic.

Yeah, the sound effects of this episode are totally Roxy-tier! Geld bass blasts were inspiring and beautiful, especially with the delightful visual candy we got.

I love this episode! Thank you for the great reaction video. I'm actually rewatching this series through your reaction videos. XD While at it, I just wanna share some facts. From the original web novel of this series, before using Megido, Rimuru have used an anti-magic barrier around the camp to prevent enemies from escaping just like in the anime. But because he is also in the barrier, he was not able to use any form of magic. It was explained there that Megido is not a magic but a skill developed by Raphael-sensei using her knowledge from the other world. It was also explained that the skill looks so grand that it can kill thousands of men in one go but it is not using that much mana or magicules. The true nature of the skill is just manipulating the droplet-like things in the area and the pods of liquid above that area. The laser things that killed the enemies are concentrated sunlight that was produced by the liquid pods(like a magnifying glass) above and manipulated the trajectory using the droplets below them. So yeah, it was a powerful skill that can mass create dead bodies of enemies and is almost not using any magicules but the tradeoff is that he can't use this skill when there's no sun to make the laser-like things.

I've wanted to see your reaction to this scene and this song for the longest time and pure shock was the reaction and I think the song just passed you by.

Anime showed this Megiddo scene less violently while manga is on whole another level 💀

@@mdhamim7552 I think the issue Seighart has is specifically with the meaning of the phrase "light hearted." Light hearted means amusing, entertaining, cheerful and carefree. While the scene may be amusing in a way and most certainly entertaining, it doesn't really qualify as "light hearted." It's still an intense scene no matter the adaptation (Anime, Manga, LN), but a better descriptor when comparing them would probably be "less gruesome" or "less visually violent".

That shield was made from the Charibdys scales, and he had stored many of them. I believe that fukboi Otherworlder smashed through a few of them shields.

Wow I caughted it on the first minute, even though i was in the watch along. I really hope Eminence in the Shadow will be next, it is so enjoyable

He is the only "Backround character". He has so much time in the backround that you could think he is the main character.

Something cool that I realized pretty recently about megiddo is that it’s an anagram for Demi god

The Gabiru battle cry + attack is soooo baaadaaaaas I love it. Its so well made. I have checked dubs in other languages and they just dont do Gabiru justice like the JP VA does.

this was my third favorite episode of the series followed but the next one and one later on so glad your watching it.

I feel little bad for Kirara, of the 3 i think she could have been reformed, and didn't deserve that death.

It's easy to overlook because the three of them showed such rotten attitudes, but they were also victims. Even if they'd been more mature, they never really had a choice. They were bound by magic to obey Razen, so while they were for the most part treated as royalty, they were practically slaves, magical weapons summoned against their will into a world low on tech and comfort compared to ours. To cope, they treated it all like a game, and like most summons they very much resented the world and everyone in it for basically stealing their lives from them. They were also teens, and like a lot of teens they were self-centered. The attitude we saw and the things we saw them do were pretty much the product of all this. In the end, what we saw was them lashing out like angry kids once given an outlet. The tantrum was much more deadly because of their abilities, but in their mind that was justified... because from their warped perspective this was a game, and everyone else was beneath them and part of a world they hated for stealing their futures.

BTW Geld's shield is made of Charybdis' scales

Yeah. This episode is just badass. Showing what happens when you piss off the guys who have been constantly holding back their true power just because they want to live peaceful lives. If it wasn't for that Holy Barrier weakening them in town there wouldn't have been any problems for the citizens of Tempest in the first place. Now that they are outside the barrier they can use their full power to get their revenge.

Just a fun fact for everyone: Megiddo is an ancient town in Palestine/Israel where many great battles have happened. If I remember correctly, the place is situated on a hill. This is where the word "Armageddon" came from, it literally means, "The hill of Megiddo". but on our current era it is commonly known as, "the end of the world...."

No the next ep is the mid season cliffhanger.man I can’t wait till they animate ln volumes 13 and 15 they are the best so far and my favorite

I'm pretty fond of volume 12. The revelations and call backs are amazing.

Megiddo was still a skill that gives mercy to its victim tho despite how pissed our great ruler Rimuru is. instantly kills them without any pain. too bad. i also love how everyone who went to battle had the same ambiance as rimuru. Calm, angry, powerful and very much wants revenge.

I never understood why people have this idea that him becoming a demon Lord or killing those people makes him evil because a demon is just a race in all forms of media that does not make them evil in fact in many stories angels are more evil then demons and devil's. as for him killing those people its the same in my eyes as over lord u threatened and killed his people thinking u was just without provocation dont now complain and shout evil when they protect them selfs

So, I know you have to skip the openings and endings during the watch along. But I'm curious if you've rewatched them by yourself. Now, knowing the context, they hit different.

Oh, dude. I'd feel bad for ya, if you didn't still have an insanely great ride ahead of you! The end of S2 First half and the end of S2 2nd half are some of the best episodes of anime I have ever seen. I could howl until my voice bled, with the hype, joy and rage I feel every time. I hope you are as satisfied with the experience as I was.

I hated waiting for the next episode when it came out

This episode makes me seeth, unironically. Because I will never understand all the people simping over evil woman death. So, it was all cool and fun to cut one guy head, and flesh-rot another, but when a girl gets her equally deserved punishment, so many people are getting pissed over it, with some stupid excuses of "muh friendly fire" (despite show telling us beforehand that these shitheads were never friends).

This kind of music at the end kinda ruin the scene for me. It denies the insanely brutal thing we are witnessing. The anime is trying so hard to erase vengefull and unforgiving Rimuru to only make him cute and nice it's annoying. Also there is another scene coming with a music that should have been epic, but the Kpop ruin it too :/
