(Sorry for my bad English please) as a professional flutist I think it sounded great. She is not professional. So it did sound good. As someone already said this is not Berlin or any other big orchestra ofc. I am writing this comment because I saw people saying "it's not her fault she's not in tune, it's the director's fault", or "She didn't have time to tune" I am sorry for telling you this but you don't need a conductor to tune, or time... That is a wrong way of thinking! You train your ear for that, you can start a piece without warming up (flute is one of the fastest instruments warming up) and sound out of tune and you know right away if you are sharp or flat, it's automatic (sorry I don't know if it's written like this). Every student or professional musician knows how to tune himself without the need of a conductor or time... It's just listening, using harmonics, listening to oboe section if they're in tune, or to clarinets if there are no oboes and so and so... But I repeat, she is not professional obviously so it sounded and sounds very good, very nice 👏

(undergrad flute performance here) mostly agreed! i want to add that the player really has to put time into ear training and ensemble playing- and listening to recordings- to have their own sense of intonation
@Souadani310
Жыл бұрын
@@andrewh967 agreed, it takes some time and training to get to it. I myself had some intonation problems back in the day and chamber music, ensembles and orchestras really helped a lot and maybe also some work with a tuning device (I only know the name in my language) ☺️ but I got to say... That F# in pp ... Still makes me want to crawl walls and scream inside ahahaha

Anyone commenting on the out of tune : Disrespectfully, shut up. I’ve never played the flute personally (I’m a French horn), but I assume it’s pretty hard because of all the buttons and the complicated parts they get. They also said this was a 2 HOUR CONCERT and was their EIGHTH performance and in between each piece they had to change instruments. Do that PERFECTLY without missing a SINGLE note on EVERY piece, then you can complain :)

I’m jsut saying THOSE TRILLS WERE AMAZING
I love this! I am a sophomore flautist, and I love hearing this song! My director refuses to let us play it because our band would crash and burn *sobs* I don't know what grade you're in, but this sounds amazing! I love this! I love how you move with the music - it's like you're really feeling it. I do it too, haha! My director always says that I look like I'm rowing a boat lol. Either way, keep it up! You sound amazing!

YOU SOUND AMAZING. not many people can play technical like that, and especially with switching instruments you ate that up as hard as you could. keep it up. ❤️❤️❤️

I really like how you were very relaxed in the high notes i notice a lot of flute players get tense in the shoulder area when playing high notes but you were very relaxed and it was obvious you were having a good time and your embocher was amazing
its so great to see someone else who bounces when they play, im a clarinet player and people always point out that i bob my head to the music while playing and think its weird, NORMALIZE ENJOYING THE MUSIC YOURE PLAYING!!!!!

not sure why youtube recommended me this a year later but not complaing! as a flute player i thought it was great! also the little hat is so cute and i love your makeup

@Souadani310
Still makes me want to crawl walls and scream inside ahahaha

woahhh playing with braces!!! i remember the struggles when i had braces 😅 respect and ur tones really nice
As a new flute player, I wanna learn this but I am not yet this advanced😅 I also wlove the way you bounce while you play!
Great, and bringing the spirit of Christmas
you did so good!!
