Vocal quality defies genres. Expressive and emotional. My husband swears he can’t believe the range. His voice and emotional commitment brings sheer joy.

There is an indescribable ability he has to emotionally captivate his audience and propel them into the story he illuminates so well. Never in my life have I ever experienced the journeys in every single musical and vocal masterpiece he orchestrates. To refer to him as a singer is to leave out so much. He CLEARLY is in a realm.all his own!!❤

Ah yes Tuomas (the keyboardist of Nightish) is a great poet and composer, it is about an eclipse if you can believe that! I say check out the original and then a more recent live version, Nightwish have changed singers twice so everyone is bound to have a prefrence. But I think this song is great to see which of the three singers you prefer since this is one of the only songs that you can find live versions of with each of the three lead vocalists.

Yes!!! Why is that? I was a language major and possess a vast vocabulary, yet adequate adjectives escape me. He is in a class- a realm all his own!!! He sets the bar on a heavenly level !!! By far the most epic, beautiful, powerful, creative, original, hard working, perfectionist and most talented singer ever- alive or dead.

Depth in his fabulous range, his vibrato, his tone, and acrobatic ability to go from tenor to bass. His harmonies are always spot on as smoothly blended as can be.

Dan, this may well be the most beautiful song you have covered. It reaches inside my heart and leaves me mesmerized. So, thank you for putting this here. It is incredibly beautiful but it loses something when we can't see you sing. That's why I'm grateful to Karla Bessa for putting this version up.

You know what's so incredible? Dan is the most phenomenal artist. Most iconic voice and in a league of his own towering over every other singer barr none!° Because he has made himself and his music so readily available I can have him sing to me whenever i want or need to hear him.❤ whatever the mood, situation, emotional state, woke up at 3:30 am wanted to hear Sleeping sun and there he is in all his perfection. Bizarre his personality is so far departed from his vocal persona. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 he's so funny , silly, and playful and multi-faceted- serious about diet, sleep, working out and mega perfectionist about his music and voice!!! But not unlike a 14 yr old in the gaming commumity 🤣🤣🤣 not many people get my attention but he is so paradoxical (complex yet simple and straight forward. ) always a new layer new level. What a gift to this world!!! ❤❤

I have listened to the Nightwish Version. It is very good, indeed, but pales in comparison to Dan's incredible angel voice and emotion. I have never heard anything more beautiful than Dan singing this song.

Why was this cover struck under copyright? Just curious. Sad that it’s not on Dan’s channel, but very grateful to Karla. I’ve been a Nightwish fan for a long time and this was my favorite song of theirs.
