Saw Amalia Rodrigues in concert at Lincoln Center NYC. Had a table up front just below the stage no more than 15 feet from where she was singing. The full house gave her like 5 standing ovations at the end of the show. Hell of an experience.

I wasn't expecting such a rich portuguese cultural experience. Amalia's house, although very of it's time, is exquisite. What a location! Probably worth millions now. Insane that it's a B&B, that's like sleeping at The Louvre and having brunch in front of the Mona Lisa. You guys have a knack of getting yourselves into the most magical places. Thanks for taking us along, I enjoyed this video a lot!

Thank you for the link!! I looked it up, and Waze apparently does not have good walking directions either… As for Apple Maps, that’s what I’ve been using for driving… and what I used in Portugal. Google maps I use on my computer and only on my phone if I want to see the street view… I have used Apple Maps for walking BUT I’ve not gone off the beaten path like you two on this adventure of yours… so I cannot say if it would be any better. 😅​@@stayclassyvlog

I completely 😍🥰💖💖💖 this 'walk to Algarve series' Totally obsessed w Day 4 & 5 💝 Day 6! So incredibly heart-felt, gorgeous views that makes feel free just watching them and such good people you've met😚☺️😘 Many yrs ago, I saw an interview with Amalia and she said that in mid-to-late 80s she came to NYC with the intention of killing herself. She stayed at The Roosevelt Hotel on Madison (now housing LatAm immigrants who were sent to NY by bus)... Amalia said that 1st evening there was a Fred Astaire movie on that made her laugh! She then got video tapes of his movies to watch for all her time in NYC, which 'something about that man dancing made her laugh and feel good' ... and she scrapped suicide and decided to continue living! She had a tough life and was very good to feeding the poor and gypsies all her life! A GREAT WOMAN!!

You do realize Salazar was a dicatator that because his authoritive action got hundreds of thousands of people, mostly young men, emprisoned and also killed? You might not like the commentary for whatever reason, which I leave to your conscience or lack thereof, but if there is ever a political figure in Portugal that can't hide from political commentary it is Salazar. To not talk about Salazar is to leave the door open for another one. It's not even about politics, it's about history.
