I actually worked on a few designs afterwards but bailed on them because of work. But now I'm working on a final design before I get a van to rv in. The top glass will open and extend 2 feet to sleep one. I already cut the the cardboard template waiting to have a little time to cut the wood and install 💪

💪💪 the best thing to do for camping outside of the city would probably be to get a roof top camper from Amazon they’re reasonably cheap. Just the security of sleeping inside the car can’t be beat 😭

Brilliant!! Thanks. I like to go away for a couple of days doing landscape photography. So I want to get to my destination just before sunset take photo's then sleep in the car and wake before sunrise and take another lot of photo's (the light is generally best in these 'golden hours'). I then want to spend the following day(s) taking more photo's, walking, visiting etc. However I can never get more than an hour or two sleep in the car and by 10:00 the next day I'm just too tired and end up trying to get another hour sleep and then drive home. Your solution is brilliant. As I am about to take early retirement this is a good economic solution for a second car, which we wouldn't need but for my photography / walking trips - my wife doesn't want a full blown camper preferring a holiday rental of some kind 🙂 So thanks again - just stretching out in a good cold weather sleeping bag on a flat surface suits me well - and it's stealthy too 🙂 Longer trips I'll still have the option to use the same car, with my one man tent - same sleeping bag and bed - seriously thanks for this as I was looking for a small camper or large estate car - both would be overkill for me and more expensive.(I just want it to get me there and back .... and to sleep in!!).

Yes those were my first thoughts but after researching online, once u remove the car seat all 8 airbags disengage. Unless u remove the battery and then put the seat back on. Which is probably still very doable if you remove the internals from the seat and place them in a safe box of some sort
