I wonder if Louise had to practice all that blinking in her performances! Top song, band and era....happy days!

This deserves far more views than 5,000 ish! I loved the 'meet the drummer' bit - they always get so left out ;-)

This drummer certainly didn't get left out. He's the lucky guy who ended up with Louise!

Sleeper are back, & the new stuff is really worth checking out. Saw them live a couple of times since the reunion, & they've upped their game since the old days! (:

I remember meeting these guys at a signing of albums in a record Store in Portland, OR, in 1998 (?) I was seeing Elvis and the Attractions later that evening. There was nobody in the shop, and they called over and said "Did you get our CD? You want it signed?" and having no idea who they were and said "No. No thanks," and left. Then when they came on stage as the support, we recognized them and I felt a bit bad. Not that bad though. Louise kept giving little hops in the middle of singing. Elvis was f*cking amazing, did a 2 hour set that ended with Pete on maracas and Steve playing accordion for Pump. It Up...

Yet here you are, and not over commenting on an Elvis Costello video. They must have left some impression on you.

@johnwilloug2717 there's simply no way an American audience would get a band like Sleeper - quite why their record label even bothered to tour the US is beyond me. Americans tend to go for Hootie and the Blowfish, Hole & Red Hot Chilli Peppers - if you can accept anything foreign it tends to be British from over 40+ years ago like the Rolling Stones or even worse Led Zeppelin.

@@zarstamuno4101 having lived tin the US for a while in the early 1990's I can attest that the average American is incredibly conservative when it comes to music - they tend to go for home grown bands or at least bands which can sing in American accents - one reason why the Rolling stones, Led Zeppelin and Beatles were so big there. The Madchester scene and Britpop never had any impact on the US - I saw both the Happy Mondays and Inspiral carpets play to half empty venues in Los Angeles.

Quite an optimistic time, middle late 90s. A lot of good bands that could play there own instruments, write there own songs. Most people had a job, Economy was doing alright.......?MTV played music, VH1.........still had TOTP.....Good haircuts, no funny shoes that turned up at the end. Clarks Walabees (cool as) ..... Then Tony Blair and his horible wife Saturnia. .................Turned to shit and we haven recovered.......

She reminds me of the really cool college girls, who ignored me in the college corridors, as my jaw hit the floor as a 17 year old shy nerdy boy.
