The most shocking and most memorable twist ending in Horror film history! When I saw this on Showtime, I thought it was your ordinary slasher flick, then it gave us a complete 180 on me!

This movie is the poster child for movies that seem like a waste of time except for the fact they have ONE moment in them that redeems everything. The first time I saw it I thought it was a crappy Friday the 13th ripoff, until the ending. At that point it became one of the all time most memorable horror movies to me.

I love the twist in this movie. And I think that the mom was high on something as her lines were insane and so was doing that to your traumatized nephew. I don't think that Ricky knew about what his mother did and thought that it was the real Angela. I wouldn't watch the sequels that comes after it, because it just comes off as bad on purpose. If you haven't watched it yet, I recommend watching Hollow Man.

As y’all can tell, I’m on a binge by watching most of y’all’s videos (bc I keep commenting on almost every video). But fun fact. Felissa Rose (Angela), said in an interview that because she was so young doing this role, they had to mold her head for the ending scene where it revealed that Angela was Peter, and a grown man was basically the bottom half of the body. (Idk if that makes sense haha). And the reason why it showed Ricky, right before killing Judy, is because it was him. It was technically Angela, but it showed the actor who played Ricky because Felissa Rose’s mom was like rlly strict. And in most shots, when it shows the killers hands, it’s actually the actor who plays Ricky. I forgot every detail about this movie because I haven’t watched the interview in years but yeah. I really liked Sleepaway Camp II, and Sleepaway Camp III, hope y’all will react to those ones too. 🥰

You can think that if you wish but Angela killed them or do I say Peter because it was Peter because Angela died. The writer and director said in the audio commentarys that was the only. Thing had a problem with in this movie is that's the only they did against Peter/ Angela was throwing sand at them. He said if he could do it again he would have them do something more egregious to get killed like that. This is on the audio commentaries that come on the Shout Factory collector's edition of the movie.

@@dominicstclairstudios6324 on the audio commentary on the Shout/Scream Factory Collector's Edition of The movie. With the movies writer and director he said every single person that got killed. Died because they did something to Peter to ern their death. He said he only regrets only having the little kids that get killed only throwing sand at Peter. Because if you want after Peter/Angela gets out of the water after being thrown in. You clearly see the little kids throwing sand at Peter so they whore marked for death from that point on. He only regrets that all they did was throw sand at Peter an Peter killed them so brutally. For that he said if he could remake it he would have had the little kids do something way worse then throw sand. You may like to think that but it's not the truth as l stated again. The movies writer and director confirmed that every single person Peter killed did something to him. Because even on the audio commentary the writer and director keep referring to Peter because it was always Peter. There was no Angela after she died in the boating accident. Peter was forced to live as his death sister wich literally and figuratively messed up his mind. Wich lead to Peter snapping an killing every person that wronged him in this movie. So get his gender right his name was an is Peter even the young actress Felicia Rose. Understood that at 13 an she understood she was playing a boy named Peter being forced to live as his dead sister against his will. She also grew up around that hole lgb community so she was not confused by it. She understood it was not Peter's choice so why can't other people. Because that is the key driving factor an an the motivation behind the murders. Peter was severely physically and mentally tortured. In a extreme case of child abuse by his Aunt Martha wich lead to the events happening in the movie. Because if his Aunt Martha just got Peter the help he needed non of the events in the movie would not of happened.

Your the first people to appreciate the fact that this movie. Actually shows things that happen at camp thats why they are in the movie in the first place. But many people don't appreciate that fact. I have the Shout Factory collector's edition of this movie I state this in case someone tries dispute anything I'm saying. Because I'm taking it directly from the audio commentary and bonus features from that version. Wich has every bonus feature in audio commentary. You are correct the real villain is Aunt Martha. By the way in audio commentarys the writer and director. Never actually states she was a doctor he would just say she said she was a doctor. I never said she was one the other person said but you wrote the script. In wich he replied that's true but she said she was a doctor did you see any proof of her being a doctor something like that. So he was kinda hinting at she was not right in the head. Wich would also explain how she behaved and talked. Now when it comes to Peter / Angela or let's be honest here Peter. Because Peter was the one that survived he is a sadist victim of them all. Because on the audio commentary the director and writer said he wanted to make a movie about extreme child abuse both physical and mental. Then it occurred to him the worst possible case forcing someone. To live as someone completely different against their will. On top of that Peter was forced to live as his dead sister. Who he seen get killed in a accident then he was forced to become her against his will. So the scene with with Peter and Angela sitting on the spinning bed. With Peter pointing at Angela is his subconscious saying I am you you are me. We are the same person so it's showing that their is two. People so to speak or personalities existing in one body wich is the Xtreme psychological trauma part. From what Aunt Martha did to Peter because one body can only contain one personality. With out having any form of mental problems so what she did. To Peter is basically suppress him and made him become his dead sister. So basically what happened was she made a ticking time bomb. Because when Peter was out of her control mental stress of having two personalities. Him and his dead sister how to put it nicely snap Goes the Weasel. So any one that crossed Peter or Angela I say Peter because it was Peter. Peter never chose to become Angela it was forced on him like you said against his will he had no say in it whatsoever. But Peter completely lost his mind there was no more Peter there was no Angela. All that was left was pure rage and anger because of everything that Peter was forced to endure by his Aunt Martha. So you cross them no matter how small your action you die. Because that's how rage and anger works someone hurt you in some way you hurt them. So I'm not justifying what Peter did but Peter was no longer there nether was Angela. Because mentally they stop existing so Aunt Martha basically destroyed Peters mind. So thats why I said he's the sadist victim of them all. Because she took a innocent child then completely warped and destroyed his mind. There are sequels to this movie but 2 an 3 have a different writer and director. I mentioned them because some say Peter is fine with being Angela in them. But the facts say other wise because he goes around as Angela. But that's because people don't know that Peter lived and Angela died. Because of all the stuff that Peters Aunt Martha did. So they only know an call him Angela but Peter is Still inside of their fighting and denying it. Because she's always covered up she does nothing like any other normal girl would do. So she does not accept her female side whatsoever she has serious issues if anyone does show anything like that. So that means Peter is still inside saying I am not Angela I am not a girl. Then the original writer and director and surviving cast members came back and did a fourth movie. A Official sequel to this movie all I can say is Peter never got any better. He was just like he was at the end of this movie Peters physical body but no one home mentally. Now with that psychological stuff behind done. Here's some fun facts about the movie this movie only had five actual people that performed before. The actress that played Aunt Martha, the perverted cook, the cop , the one that playef Meg and Mel the camp owner. Everyone else it was my first time acting including Felicia Rose who played Angela. She said on one of the audio commentary her addition was she was told. To sit there and pretend you were eating a candy bar. She did then she got the job because they seen she could say alot to just by using her eyes. Some of her cousins we're in the movie as background people. Ricky was supposed to be supposed to die its in the original script. But he changed his mind last minute and this was the first horror movie to actually kill a child. In some places that scene with the bloody sleeping bags was completely removed. From the theatrical version along with the VHS tapes that were sold there. When it comes to Meg's death scene the reasons she's only robbing her shoulders. Is because the actress said I'm not doing no nudity. So they if they showed anything other than her shoulders you'll see her in a bathing suit. Felicia Rose on the audio commentary said her an that actress even. Said they came up with that hum she was huming coming together. Basically the characters in the movie did not get along that's a understatement. But behind the scenes they all got along. Judy's death on the other hand audio commentarys the writer and director. Got that idea from makeup person she mentioned a hot. Curling iron going someplace that would not be pleasant. All he did is go a interesting idea because it never shows whare the curling iron goes. The writer and director wrote this movie with that specific camp in mind. Because it was a real camp that it was filmed at an new about it because he went there as a kid. So he already knew its layout and how it would work out. Wich kinda goes into why some movies are filmed at actual camps especially older horror movies. Because that's he put it on audio commentary for this movie. It's simply cheaper because for one low price $1,000 you get multiple filming locations for one price. Unlike renting out multiple filming locations for double that then. You have to add in fuel cost to get to each of the filming locations. So with a low budget movie it's cheaper and less expensive to rent out a entire camp. Because you get multiple filming locations and no travel time to each filming location. Because it's all in one location so it just makes common sense. Now to address the fact that before Judy gets killed. You see Ricky in a wig standing in the doorway. Thats because Felicia roses mother was fine with the story of the movie. But she drow the online at her daughter will not have anything to do with any killing scenes. So the actor that played Ricky filled in for her that's why you see him in a wig. But thats only because it is in HD so you see more detail. Then when this movie was originally released on VHS. Because all you see on VHS is someone standing in a doorway. A quick little Side Story on the audio commentary. Felicia Rose in the scene when the two boys are making fun of Angela at the dances. She was cracking up inside because she knew the whole story for the character. The actors playing the boys did not. So she was thinking to herself you have no idea of how messed up I am she was all ways thinking what would that character do. I keep stressing that Peter was forced to become Angela against his will. For other people because you understand it. But There is a small group of people out there that don't understand that. They see this movie and they seriously think Peter chose of his own free will to become Angela. Even though all the facts of the movie say other Weis. Seriously these people believe that he knowingly and freely chose to became Angela. They also believe that everyone in the camp knew about that whole thing. That Angela was really a boy the enter time yea those people are realy out there. They completely ignore everything that the movie shows and says.

  • @83shadow3

To be honest and neutral as I always am. The main drawing point is how the people get killed. Its completely different than other horror movies. The storys non-spoiler but basically people go to Camp they do something they get killed. No real story substance Beyond that I mean I only watch them for the kills. Because unlike this one where it had a underlined theme an story of extreme child abuse. They basically have Angela killing people because they don't know about the Peter being alive and Angela dying thing. So people do something then it's shows Angela kill them in a interesting manner for the most part. Thats all that 2 an 3 are basically about along with more camps being put up for sale. Because as the camp owner said in this movie. Who would send their kids to a camp whare people got murdered. So its up to you I do not say to watch it or not to watch it . I give you enough information so you can make up your own mind. But I personally watched them for the kills. But I'm not the best person to determine what movies are best for you to watch based off the stuff I can watch. I mean seriously I can watch movies whare someone gets ground into hamburger meat. Wall eating dinner and have no problem with it my standard of movies are different than what yours are going to be. Thats why I stick to the facts of the movies an things that happened during the movie and behind the scenes of the movie. Because facts are facts there's no personal opinions in facts. They are Point Blank this is what the person said and this is how it happened. But that's why this movie has some rewatchability. Because of the psychological aspect of it from this point I will reefer to Peter / Angela as PA . Now bet you know that they are Peter was forced to become Angela hans PA looking at the movie it makes you think. Was PA staring at Judy because they whore attracted to her because around that age boys do start to go through puberty. Then PAs reaction to Paul's feelings throw them off because they may have been attracted to Judy. Then Paul was showing affection to them so so you may of had. Peter liking Judy but the Forced Angela personality may of liked Paul. Then that explain why when PA got out of the water after being thrown in they were humped over. Because they were hiding their little secret. So you can watch this movie again and noticed little things that you didn't notice before.

I feel I should explain because you seen me explain the movie to someone once in the comments section already. I do that to people that try to make this movie about it being a trans person in the end. Because that has nothing to do with it. You seen and you understood it was about the fact that Peter was forced. To endure extreme physical and psychological child abuse. By his Aunt Martha wich lead Peter to have severe psychological issues that's just putting it mildly. Basically she destroyed his mind and made him go crazy and kill people. That is the point of the movie severe physical and psychological child abuse. Can and will lead to severe psychological issues down the line. But people that make this movie about it being a trans person in the end. Watch this movie and they ignore that all together I seen several people's takes on the movie from that angle. Heres what the majority of them see when they watch the movie. Peter openly and freely chooses to become his dead sister. It was his idea from the start Aunt Martha had nothing to do with his decision. Peter was happy and joyful and excited about becoming his dead sister. So he had no mental issues whatsoever going on. Then at camp people are being mean to him because he wanted to be a girl. So he used his sane and rational mind then went they are being mean. Because they are being transphobic So the sane and rational thing to do. Is kill them because they did something mean to me even though they don't know anything about me or who I am. They did it to me because they are transphobic so they must die for that. Yes that includes the little kids that throw the sand as well. The camp owner only said a few words to Angela but they were all transphobic had to die. I'm not making this stuff up people have 30 minute videos explaining this version of the movie. These are people that see Angela is really a boy then make it all about that. They completely ignored every single fact of this movie. To make the point of the movie about Angela being a boy. So I will inform people with the facts of the movie that it. Has nothing to do with trans anything because it doesn't. Its all about the severe physical and psychological abuse that Peter endured. Wich lead to his severe psychological break which led to him killing people. So I respectfully explain that they are wrong about the point about the movie. Because the point is a more realistic issue that happens. Kids everyday sadly go throuth extreme child abuse. So this movie is showing that I'm actually being serious about this. On KZread a a while back people making videos about a boy being forced. To wear dresses and go by a female name and they showed news and clips to back it up. Because his father was facing legal charges because. He let him a wear boys clothes and called him by his birth given name. He took him to therapist who said his son is a boy mentally. But the mother is forcing him to wear dresses and girls clothes. Then then go by a girl's name everywhere he goes even in public especially in school. The reason for this she had twin boys an she wanted a girl. So she went to one of them an went your a girl now. You will dress like a girl you'll have a girl's name you will be a girl from this point on. She is doing this to a six-year-old boy and as far as I know the Court in her city or state is fine with it. Because they told the the father you will only put him in girl's clothes you will only calling him is girl name. This is a real life thing that is happening or was this was a couple years ago so like in 2019. She even stated when he turns 10 she was going to start hormone therapy to turn him into a girl. This is a real life case of extreme physical and psychological abuse just like in this movie. Just so you know the last I heard the father was seeking full custody of both children. In family court on the grounds the mother is mentally unfit. To have custody or any form of visitation with their children. On the grounds an he has proof from therapist his son does not desire to become a girl. But the mother is literally making him become one completely against his will. So as far as I know the father is fighting it all the way. But seriously people are doing this kind of stuff to children. If you don't believe me I don't recommend it but look it up on KZread You'll see stories.

Some people think Ricky not only knew but helped Angela kill people at the camp. In real life it was Actor who played Ricky that did the killing scenes because the actress who played Angela was too young at the time (like the pedo chef or the killings where you see the killers arms or hands and it probably was the actor who played Ricky in the Judy death scene). It was most likely that he didn’t agree with what his mom was doing and maybe he had some beef with people in the camp like Judy and eventually Paul. Plus the way they were all picking all Angela they could have planned it out. Plus when the aunt told them not to tell how they got their physicals he said “No matter what they do I’ll never tell”. There were sequels but they were more comedy than horror and they weren’t that good.

@@SomethingCinema To be fair most of the horror movies in the 80s were first-time directors. Like this movie for example it was his first movie. Movie studios would not openly hire directors without seeing some degree of work beforehand. You have to remember back in the 80s horror movies were not popular. To put it a way they whore on level ground with adult movies the XXX kind. They were out there and people watched them but they not openly accepted in general public. Unlike nowadays it's an acceptable form of entertainment. They get bigger budgets to start with thats why some directors and writers only would make one Horror movie. Because people back then looked down on horror movies. They whore not celebrated like they are today. So they would have a idea that they thought was a good horror movie. Then get a $3,000 budget if they were lucky to get that much. Then make the movie the best they could with what they had to work with. But nowadays you have people are payed literally thousands of dollars. Giving whole bunch of wiggle room to make a horror movie. Back then it was more like here's $3,000 you have 60 days get it made. So that doesn't give them much time to make it a perfect horror movie. Time wise an budget-wise it was not much.

26:16 Her husband was the boyfriend of her brother(Angela and Peter's dad). When the aunt's brother died in the boating accident, her husband had no reason to stay around. It was a marriage of convenience.

I'll never think of Peter being transgender by choice. Having grown up with CPTSD, you just kinda go along with whatever, you're basically numb. Clearly his aunt was the one to choose how he'd be living as his dead sister. I also don't think he was into boys. As far as having SRS, I'd assume his aunt slipped him estrogen, so even if he wanted to live as a guy, he would've been chemically castrated from the estrogen. Honestly, I see this more like David Reimer. Good movie though!

Cool reaction and dialogue (This movie freaked me out when I watched it years ago - THAT ENDING - Like WTF, lol)... Word of advice "stay away from "A Serbian Movie"" (And that's the actual name). That's a film I wish I had never seen - HANDS DOWN, the most disturbing movie ever made (I'm only mentioning it here, because I have seen it being recommended under a lot of reaction channels, and I'm giving you guys a heads up - That's one horror movie you will regret seeing, if you watch it).
