The way when he sings "rise me up again" as he raise up the note,I mean is a simple detail but really well appreciated, check Aqua Regia good lyric content right there

Now that you’re hooked by these 2, I would honestly go back and listen to each of the albums from start to finish. There is a story being told throughout all 3 albums and it is amazing to watch it grow and evolve in to Take Me Back To Eden. You will appreciate it so much more by doing this….trust me!

i love seeing people dig into sleep token's lore, because reading the lyrics you go "oh, there's a theme of toxic relationships and codependency" and you would never come to the conclusion "oh, obviously hes communing with an ancient deity who claims him as a vessel so he can interact with the physical world instead of remaining in a realm of dreams and quite possibly the ocean floor"

The other two that I would recommend checking out from this album (besides the whole thing) are Granite (very pop, but still with some chunk to it) and the title track Take Me Back To Eden (an absolute sonic journey). Both very cool in their own way. Loved the Ascensionism reaction!

I really love the way you talk about these songs. It helps me piece together how he does it. The rhymes, the tones, how the lyrics go together, all of what you're sharing is great! I'm glad that you caught on that he used those lyrics again. I hope to see you continue the Sleep Token journey because there are so many more songs to enjoy. There's plenty of Sleep Token songs that make me question "How the heck did he make that work!? But it works SO WELL!"

there's a reason that sleep token uses the term "worship" - nailed it.

Bro it's funny that you pointed out the way the lyrics are structured like something you'd see out of a book of hyms or the bible. Because that's literally how they write a lot of their music! They structure their lyrics to sound very much like songs of worship. I really hope you take the deep dive and check out more. There isn't enough reactions to these guys. Much love! Also if I were to reccomend a song by them, it would be "The Apparition". That song made me emotional the first time I heard it.

Sleep Token doesn't have a bad song, so just take your pick😅...this album is the third album in a trilogy. If you wanna do a deep dive then you should start from the beginning. They have 2 EPs, a couple of singles and then the first of the full length albums in the trilogy. Like a movie, Vessel's (singer/song writer/composer) songs tell a story. Each song is like a chapter of a book, and the last song on this last album is the Grand finale. But if you wanna take the short cut then this last album is straight 🔥🔥... it doesn't have a bad song on it. Rain, Take Me Back to Eden (track) Granite and Chokehold are all bangin.....take your pick. Can't wait to see you do more Sleep Token ❤ Worship ❤

Granite, Chokehold, or Sugar are definitely some of the next songs you should check out.

I love Mugnifys reaction to the funky part at the end! Thats exactly how me and everyone felt when they heard that 😂

I knew I was getting anime/ video game vibes in a lot of their songs but you are SPOT ON on the Tokyo Ghoul, I hadn't even realized but you're right!

My guy... yes, the whole sleep diety thing is just a gimmick. The three albums are a trilogy about his relationship/relationships, though I lean towards the former. He disguises the pain and trauma of all of this in the performance, the mask and makeup and all. That's the promotion. The words, the message, it's real. It's palpable. Just keep looking at this music through the lens of a toxic relationship that you want to get over bit keep falling back into. It will all make sense. From album one to two to three, there is a progression in the story. It's heart wrenching and beautiful in the way he shares it. The thing is, he's a wonderful artist who's sharing his tragedy to help us cope with ours. So enjoy it for what it is and if you judge anything, judge the music, which in my opinion, is amazing.

Hey Mug! Don't get too worried about the Sleep lore. In my opinion it's just an analogy to a girl he lost. Sleep Tokens entire catalogue is a journey of loss, love, pain, rage and regret. Always Worship.

The architects tour at the beginning of 2023, they opened up (first ever show in the Netherlands), then the EU Festival came round saw them twice. Then it was announced they opened up for Slipknot (for which I already had tickets) and then The Germany date was the first full headline show I got to see. (which turned out to be their last live show with the "old" masks, lol) humble brag.. but yes really hope you get to see them soon

I just want to say something about the “lore” First Vessel refers to sleep as a He not a She Second he was in a band with his ex named backlit canopy. You will hear it called backlit canopy, backlit paradise ancient canopies, don’t think he’s singing about this to a deity. He also attempted suicide which is what Atlantic is about and are you really ok? was written from the perspective of his mother. I will never believe this music is worshipping a deity, it’s worshipping the one he lost imo

This one was worse than most too.

Don’t read too much into whole deity thing , that’s more for lore of the band but not literal. It’s more a metaphor to love and toxic relationship(s) vessel has had. At least imo I don’t take the whole lore of the deity and ‘sleep’ visiting him and worshiping sleep with his songs literal

Sorry, but the official videos are artwork in themselves and were directed specifically for each song on the LP. Doing yourself and viewers a disservice watching these sad lyric videos. Great band though and appreciate you bringing them to the spotlight.

Reaction was good, I subbed. The lyric video...not that good. I think they accentuated at the wrong times and missed some of the words. You prolly are just as well off with their official videos that use imaging slow enough for you to concentrate on the lyrics and song.
