Sleep Token has chops when they put it down like this!!

Been waiting too long for this. So happy. This is the second and last time Vessel will drop an F Bomb (at least for now). It’s a testament to how dark the mood actually is. Nazareth was the only other time and that again was an almost sinister use of the word. This is a wholly new emotion for Vessel. Sleep should be afraid. So after the heartbreak of Give Vessel has now gone unhinged. I can hardly blame him, he has sacrificed so much for this Goddess and she can’t reciprocate. “I see the gods avert their gaze from me. My fucking flesh is but a wreck beneath them. And there is always someone I can call on, it’s all so easy for me.” This is like modern Shakespeare. He is lamenting Sleep once again leaving him with only the request he keep giving what he can give to her. He’s a rat in a cage now and he’s going to lash out. “No more taking chances, no more teeth to bite with, no more smiling faces, I am alone again.” The hurt is deep and His rage overtakes him “you wanna talk? You wanna talk it out? Cause the jokes on me and I’m laughing too!” He is crass and unruly. He’s SO PISSED. He is offended that Sleep can just ask him to give blindly like it is the easiest thing for him to do. No concept of the pain Vessel has had to endure up to this point. He shifts his aspirations to hurt Sleep. He wants the retribution, he wants to show the pain of that which he suffers. He wants violence. “Do you like the way it feels? Like fire from the heavens carving past the surface into you?” The pain he inflicted on himself to get here. It’s important that Vessel shows her the depths of the trauma she has caused. “Don’t like the way it feels? like fire from the heavens tearing me asunder beside you?” He’s essentially asking if she even gives a shit that it hurts him so much to even be this upset in the first place. He’s tearing himself apart. He just wants her to see him. It’s tragic. Anger can be a form of self-love. It comes from believing you are being treated less than your worth. Self-love is kind of Sleep’s Kryptonite. The difference is that he is leaning into the wrong side of anger. Vessel is lamenting his own choices to get himself here. Calling himself the joke or acknowledging he is alone, spiralling his own despair. If she can soothe the beast again she needs to work quickly or he may just destroy the entire realm Sleep has built with herself in it. Should Vessel ever find a way to harness his attack on how he should be treated instead of how he is not being treated he will find true power. Instead, Sleep finds an angry petulant boy. Who she needs to stay subdued. Worship.

We all been waiting for this track and you know why. So far most songs have been 70% calm with 30% heavy at the end, or just calm. This one already starts punching you, and keeps punching it for most of the time

You should do a reaction to Slaughter to Prevail - Vikings. Absolutely insane!!. The lead singer also does a Doom song called Doom Slayer which is worth a watch, you won’t believe what he can do with his voice 😅

I can’t wait till you guys get through the first two albums and then get to take me back to Eden. I love the first two albums but in my opinion, Eden is the best

Eden’s great but in my opinion not the best one. It’s definitely more “accessible” and easy to digest where as the 1st 2 EP’s & Sundowning are much more creative.

I’ve always thought the china cymbal (especially in the heavier parts) sounds like a metal trash can lid. 😂 And the beauty of Sleep Token is the polar opposite that follows this. Can’t wait for Sugar.
