A prime example of why some people call Sleep Token baby making metal. November isn't that far away. When I went to see Nightwish, I bought my ticket in November 2018 for the concert scheduled for December 2019. Unfortunately, due to the World closing down, the gig was postponed (twice) until December 2022. It's the longest I've ever had to wait for any event! Stay safe 🤘 ✌️

Isn't it amazing how diverse Sleep Token's catalog is? This is one of my favorite songs they have out. It paints such lovely images in my head, listening to it through my headphones! This is one of the most beautiful love songs ever written, honestly. This is devotion and calm and trust. “You took the dark and carved me out a home. I picture you when you when you are all alone.” think this is Sleep speaking to Vessel who literally emptied himself to accommodate his worship for her. She is trying to meet him where he is a little bit. He asked her to take aim at him and this is it. “If you want to give then give me all that you can give. All your darkest impulses and if you want to give me anything then give, give in again.” Same story here for Sleep asking endlessly for Vessel’s complete devotion and as we have seen Vessel keeps giving. Sleep is a taker. “I am the shadow, you’re a passenger.” Important line for future reference. Sleep is claiming she is running the show. Vessel is merely along for the ride. “I am the intake of breath so sharp…” I think this is calling back to Thread the Needle. That sharp intake of breath we take when met with pain or a laceration. Sleep knows his heart. She sees his pain. This is all lovely. Right? Look at the visualizer and we are in the desert…. It’s bone dry. There is no relief in this message to Vessel. He’s already starved. Then there is the snake which is a future reference to a different song. This is evoking the past and the future which is amazing. The message is clear when the last 2 choruses change “I just want to give, want to give you all that I can give, all my darkest impulses and if YOU want to give me anything then give, give in again.” Sleep CAN’T give anymore than she already has. This is her limit. She is not capable of love and Vessel would be heart broken at this. She won’t give into him the way he will for her, she will just keep asking more and more until there is nothing left of our boy. This is a pivot point in the story. Emotions rearrange now. Gods is next. Vessel has some things to say. Worship. From one song to the next on this album you cannot predict where one song will lead the next and somehow they pull it off. It is what makes ST SO exciting to experience.

@@bradleycampbell7256 DYWTYLM is probably the best lyrics in the band, it gets lots of underserved hate. My main interpretation it is someone monologing to himself. But when I read "Sleep CAN’T give anymore than she already has. This is her limit. She is not capable of love..." in your comment a few cogs moved in my head. Some bits can be Vessel talking to sleep, not only to himself. "Maybe not that you conceal your feelings, they just don't exist" Could be both a realization about Vessel empty state and Sleep's cold, emotionless nature. Also the title itself could be both. Vessel can be asking himself if he wishes to have self love, but also asking Sleep if she would to choose love him if he could. I still stick more to the "talking to the mirror monologue" still, since the line "And my reflection just won't smile back at me like I know it should" and others seems to point that way.

@@Bibyte I like that train of thought. And I think the mirror is REALLY important in the second half of that album. I subscribe to the self-actualization self-love thing there for a really good reason that I will talk about whenever we get to TMBTE. But I think also he could be learning from his experience with Sleep that fake love is a real thing and it’s something he couldn’t accept from her and it’s something he couldn’t accept from himself too. But we are no where near there yet.

One of my favourite love songs from them. A song to dive into and I reacted the same like you when I first heared it. And its completely harmless, no harsh breakdown metal inferno just pure love and as soon as Vessel starts singing, i get goosebumbs allover.
