Have you ever tried double drop shot for trout? We in SoCal use #8-#10 owner mosquito hook spaced about two feet apart with your bottom hook being about a foot from the weight. You should try it out. Also do you have any mini jigs? You would love that method as well.

Plueger trion reel 1500 with 4lb test. Can’t remember the Rod cause I lost it a while ago..

5wt is a good all around fly rod to start with. That’s what I was using here, and I linked it in the description
