Heavy rock's elite were on hand to pay tribute to late Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman and thoughts were expressed by the rest of the Big 4, Metallica, Anthrax and Megadeth, as well as Testament, Slipknot, David Draiman of Device and Disturbed, Sebastian Bach, Rob Zombie, Suicide Silence, Black Veil Brides, Chris Jericho, Queensryche, Jason Newsted, Stone Sour, Phil Anselmo, Rex Brown, Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead, and Zakk Wylde.

Black Veil Brides are decent guys. They acknowledge why people hate them, and made it clear they don't give a shit. Not their fault 14 year old girls adore them. Nobody gave people that much shit for dressing up in the 80's, everyone's trying to be a hard-ass, but come off as oversensitive. If you hate them so much, why obsess over how much they suck? Damn man.

The Bay Area thrash bands and their fans gave the glam bands (e.g. the bands that dressed up like Poison, Motley Crue etc) a fucking ton of shit in the 1980s. Especially Exodus and Metallica; Gary Holt and Paul Baloff would frequently beat up Bon Jovi fans in the street for example. Part of the reason Metallica named their first album "Kill 'Em All" was basically referring to killing who they deemed posers.

ChernovFan100 the only reason why people hated bands because they think bands like metallica are worshiping the devil which they arent. I mean its different music that some people like i mean i know there are some bands that i dislike but i dont go commenting that i hate them and etc...i just hit the dislike button and go on to my next video but nope half of these people dont have a life and like to start stuff since they obviously dont like to be wrong and thinks they have to always be right.

I really liked the way both Jason Newstead and Rob Zombie carried themselves, with an honest dignity that really struck a chord. Some of the newer bands out there seemed like they were too into themselves. It's a sad time for all Slayer fans and the Metal genre overall. R.I.P. Jeff. You can never be replaced.

This wasn't a memorial service for Jeff this was the golden gods event or whatever the fuck it is Revolver magazine does lol..this was the day Jeff passed away so they interviewed all these other musicians asking about their experiences and whatnot about Jeff. A lot of them say in the video that they just found out about his death on the way there/within the hour etc. Plus who cares if any of the bands suck it's all all matter of opinion (no I do not like BVB by any means lol) but at least they respected Jeff and Slayer.

It's people like you who bashed Slayer when they came out, BVB is not the heaviest band in the world, but they are still kick ass and songs like the legacy are full on thrash and they are more of a melodic and groove based band and the message in their lyrics are fucking heart felt. Slayer had many similar messages in much more visceral and extreme ways, so as a die hard Slayer fan, I won't say fuck you, but I will say you are very-very wrong for bashing a band who has the bravery to exist today

It has thrash parts, groove metal parts and the choruses. No doubt a sick metal song, "We'll change the world with these guitars" do those sounds like the intentions of those sickening pop star cunts? Fuck no. As I said to another commenter, I have been listening to bands like Slayer and Pantera for years before BVB came along and STILL believe this because it is the truth. Why does Zakk Wylde and Alice Cooper speak so fondly of them? Because they are genuine, FUCK what people say - Slayer FAN.

Why do people keep bringing up the riffs? What about the song writing? Those lyrics we wrote are freaking badass. I love those war songs and Angel of Death is my favorite song. Some musicians go too soon regardless of how important they are to the Hard Rock/Metal world. Even though it sucked when both Dio & Lemmy left at least they left us with so much music unlike Randy Rhoads or Dimebag or Layne Staley.

They don't dress up to get more fans, they LIKE to dress that way, they have toned it down a lot but they are not 17 anymore, they are in their 20's and full grown men, drinking and partying and making inspirational music, they dress with in image to not be lumped in with a bunch of posers thinking that an image automatically makes you a sell out, that's like telling David Bowie to simply dress "normally" the look matters, BLS has their look, Slipknot has theirs, Trivium, In This Moment, etc....
