Simply my favorite vessel route. The Damsel as she is, is pretty much your typical 'happily ever after' route. However, this allows you to test her love for you even more. Even as a ghostly wraith, she is still willing to forgive you for everything that happened, fully aware that both of you will inevitably hurt each other again and again. As an act of love, she wishes to end it all together with you holding your hand and giving you a heartwarming smile that says "I'm here with you and everything will be okay".

Well, yes of course she does. She is only a reflection of your perspective, you perceived her still loving you after you kill her, so of course the next version of her will also still love you.

I feel so bad for her in this route, she even apologised assuming she did something wrong to end up being stabbed.

Listen I know Smitten is a giant simp but hearing him so sad is heartbreaking. He loves her…and “his” body just killed her.

Simping is bad only if you do so for someone who doesn't even care about you, like onlyfans girls. She cared about you, no, she LOVED you, deeply so. His "simping" was simply loyalty and desire for her

No matter what, one of you seems to HAVE to be hurt, or the world itself completely breaks apart. Makes it all feel kinda futile at certain moments.

​@@michelecastellotti9172 I think that this relationship is rather about ignoring the other person's need and understanding the core of that person. The smitten just sees the beauty of the damsel and not rather her true self. That's why I think in stranger, her hand resembles 'blind devotion'. So his "love" for her is just.. surface leveled. Perhaps it could be called lust too... Sure he's loyal to her but if he doesn't even acknowledge the person she is! This could result in a bad relationship. The damsel is a result of his "simpy" behavior in chapter 1. She is shifting mound, so she is built from the circumstances around her. As we simply try to save the princess, she becomes more like damsel because of our actions of wanting to save her. Perhaps the princess assumes we want to be a dashing hero and so in chapter 2 she becomes the damsel to "fulfill" that desire. She loves us for who we are but we(the smitten) doesn't. He just compliments her on her beauty and sees nothing else. I think this is why they both could suffer from this relationship (first us being slayed and her, not being understood ig)

I love how the grey just has this extremely drawn out opening argument 😂

I think the saddest part of this route is that the Princess still has SOME sort of agency and control over how she changes. While our perception of her does change her, her perspective of us ALSO changes her. The Witch is probably the best example of this. We tricked her, so now she WANTS to trick us back. She WANTS to get revenge no matter what and our perception of us helped her along with that. This means that the Damsel, to some degree, WANTED to be left with absolutely no agency whatsoever. After what we did and how hard we tried to rescue her, and her devastation over how she had to kill us, and couldn't even make it quick, she wanted to do WHATEVER would make us happy to make up for it, even if it meant giving up her entire being and sense of self to do it. "I just want to make you happy!"

Smitten and Cold are hilarious together.

I love the damsel route when you don't get that wierd music to ruin it. Best route. The amount of love she has for you is beautiful. Just pure unconditional love, like as in 'Romeo and Juliet' love. I also find the grey route the most disturbing route. I mean even the landcape, outside of the cabin, reminds me of the lonely moors in real life. The grey route is highly disturbing with the bloated body of the princess dragging you down in to darkness of murky waters of the cabin whilst a terrifying ghostly apparition watches you silently from above. It gives me chills. Very disturbing psychologically. Also, the grey, passion betrayed and love that never faded. That vessel makes me cry. She never stopped loving you. Even though it was sick to make you burn to death, she genuinely thought it was for the best because she wanted you and her to be united again. Very deep and sad.

I have to disagree with the first paragraph. It’s not a beautiful love, it’s kinda creepy. She’s basically just a cardboard cutout of a person with no wants or feelings of her own.

@@Pikmanipulator the princess is whatever the MC perceives her to be. The smitten believes she’s a damsel in distress that will love him, and his belief is so strong that’s all she is. That’s why she degrades if you ask her what she wants, there’s nothing there except for damsel in distress

@@AidMB Affectionate and sweet may be all she is, but to me Damsel seems genuine in it somehow, so I can't hate her for being one dimensional even though I have hated similar characters in the past. In my eyes Damsel is the human equivalent of a golden retriever, blonde hair and all.

Real chads love them all. They might be partial to the Needle though. (Unironically the Shifting Mound is best girl.)

I absolutely adore the Narrator, even though he's kinda an antagonist. He's so emotive, both amusingly and heartbreakingly. You can really feel his desperation, even though he masks it with sarcasm, wisecracking, and complaining.

Sadly Manly couldn't show me what we just saw. Thank you for this uncensored LP.

Manly did an uncensored LP the first time, and I saw the whole thing, but because his content is monetized he got flagged by KZread and it was forcibly deleted by KZread hours later and he had to upload a censored one instead. He didn't foresee that KZread hated the Grey, so don't blame him just like that.

Thanks for uploading, I never could find the heart to take her life in this route (so the Burning Grey was the one vessel I never got to encounter). At least she's a lot more understanding than the Drowned Grey (prisoner) version, who will still be coldly angry at you even if you didn't kill her and she killed herself.

There are two pristine blades in the burned Grey chapter; one in the body on the floor and one in the Princess

Actually you can. You just need to bring the blade, then while asking her questions, slay her at any point before the hands come. Or deconstruct her, go upstairs and slay her and she'll revert to the state she was in.

There may be no wrong choices, only new perspectives and experiences, but killing The Damsel in cold blood like that sure feels like a wrong choice.
