His main guitar on the latest album was a vintage 335. Never seen in play one on stage though. Kinda weird. Definitely synonymous with the LP

I believe he played one in Velvet Revolver, "The Last Fight" video. And he was playing one in a blues video, "Killing Floor".

​@@sprucesoultree3833I heard somewhere that his signature model from BC Rich is The Mockingbird SL made by the custom shop, based on the Mockingbird he used on the You Could Be Mine video, it even have/had the Seymour Duncan ALNICO II pickups he's known to use. If thats true, it kinda makes sense of the SL on the name standing for SLash, the vibrant red color similar to his, the big R on the headstock just like the older BC Rich guitars. Maybe he signed a contract with Gibson that prevent another company to explicit mention his name on a signature guitar that isnt a Gibson?

@@margaretjbuckley don't get me wrong, iblove Slash as much as the next guy, but there are way too many Slash signature models, it's not even funny. And you are absolutely right, other artist jshould have some signature models. I mean Beato has a signature model. Trogly should have one too for as much as he loves Gibsons. Slash models are over saturated, it's getting old

Most don't realize that one of Slash's main guitars was a Jackson Firebird when he joined GnR. He didn't even own a Les Paul early on.

Hey Austin, I reckon the pickguard on the Faulkner Explorer looked good too. The "suit" look you mentioned is cool but it also works with the whole 1950's "Atomic Age" and cars with fins and heaps of chrome aesthetic. Kind of reminds me of the side panels on the rear of a '57 Chevy, particularly when held in the playing position. Personally I think it's really pretty cool

I like Epiphone especially when Gibson kinda pushes it up like they have been. Just like Squier I still think Im "supporting" the parent company and getting enough quality for the money. I like those new Fenders you covered here. Great daily dose!

Faulkner Explorer looks amazing with the big guard IMO. With how the V and Explorer kinda go hand in hand, I feel it pulls them close together nicely. Really cool vibe.

I wouldn't have guessed that was a Slash signature either. As ive said before im not a big fan of the Explorer but that one with that odd pickguard giving it a tuxedo look is interesting.

I dig the Faulkner Explorer’s pickguard. It’s like they used an upside down version of his V pickguard on it. Or overlapping stars. If he doesn’t get a production signature Explorer, Gibson ought to use it on an “Explorer Modern”

sam ash is where it started it all for me at least. 2001 first guitar - ibanez sa-160qm

If have a feeling if they did put Brazillian rosewood on this, the price would be at least $10k more. The Sam Ash by me in Queens was one of the original “half” that were closing. Honestly, I’d much prefer the smaller “mom and pop” guitar shops that I grew up with over these big stores. (The only time I went to any Guitar Center was to interview for a job, lol. Sadly my guitar and pedal knowledge wasn’t enough as I’m not an amp vs amp guy, I play what I like (Marshall) and that’s pretty much it.)

I could buy a vintage one for way less.

If he didn’t get paid to do so, he’d play his trusty LP. Gibson is trying to sell more guitars and especially other models than the LP, so now even Slash suddenly is playing them. They hope that’ll boost sales.

Faulkner Explorer looks good, except for the Floyd Rose. Daphne blue thinline strat with transparent finish would be right up my street apart from I just got an Am Pro Strat... And that fugly pickguard.

Faulkners guitars would be much more sought-after if they had a T.O.M, would also prefer if they ended up have that, they cut the pickguard so that you don't have to unscrew the thumb wheels for the bridge

Trogs, because of you, I traded my usa fender for a gibson studio hp. I've always been a slash fan but never got into les Paul's because of the weight. You've changed my mind about gibson and now I'm all in. Thanks!

All I wanted was a les paul that looked exactly like his Derrig one but of course they never did it. No. The signature Afd's dont look like his replica. And it's not something impossible. Gibson this a very faithful reproduction of the Greeny after all.

As much as i collect Slash guitars....this wont be one of them. Even if it WERE affordable.

Dont bother going to sam ash for the closing sale. Its 5% off basically everything... You can get a better deal from pretty much any local music store, and then youre supporting a local business too.

How sad for Sam Ash. They were a staple in New York. I bought so much stuff in my day I remembered when those stores were packed with people and gear. Now walk into a guitar center and there’s nothing but budget garbage. Problem with online is that you can’t try out anything before buying so you never know what you’re getting and that’s sad. Goodbye brick and mortar and don’t forget jobs!!!!

‘Poor’ Slash now has to play all these guitars since he became a ‘Gibson brand Ambassador’. First, it was only and obviously a Les Paul signature, because that’s what he always played and is known for. But then after like 15 Slash signature LP models, they ran out of models to signature + Gibson these days is pushing the other guitar models hard. They don’t want to just be the LP brand, so now even Slash has to play the other models. So suddenly, we’re seeing him with a Firebird and ES-335… oh and don’t forget the acoustics, even though he (on video) rarely ever played a Gibson acoustic, Gibson released a J45 Slash signature in a few colors. In old and some recent videos, he has always played a Guild or Taylor. In the end, it’s all about the money. He gets paid to play the different models and Gibson hopes to sell them. But to me, it kinda tarnishes his own ‘brand’ a bit, because since forever, he’s been the Les Paul guy.

Well all you wealthy folks will get to add another basic name brand guitar to your collection. In about 2 years you’ll be able to sell it for maybe half of what you paid for it.

It's a shame, Sam Ashe is closing. It will be a sad day in music history 😔

Didn't they JUST announce ANOTHER Slash Les Paul, the Jessica? (which apparently is his OG Les Paul, but I though that was a fake and I thought they already did that one... maybe multiple times already?) It's kind of becoming a joke at this point lol. He's gotta be up to at least 20 Gibson signatures, 30 or 40 with Epiphones. It's like a monthly thing now lol.

Yup. But Jessica isn't the fake. The appetite for destruction "LP" was the Music Works fake. Jessica came later, after finding the limelight. I don't know what's funnier. Gibsons attempts to hoover all wallets from 50k down to 5k with a slew of repeat signature models (now even models the artist isn't even associated with), or "collectors" for buying them.
