Listened to, and sung along with, on 1 July 2015. I am a 70 year old house-bound Catholic, and use hymns like this as part of my daily Liturgy Of The Hours. Beautiful and spiritual singing from the congregation.

This is my favorite hymn. In our family we have used it at both weddings and funerals. Very beautiful words and tune. I sang along, too, like you, Harry!

Oh! how majestic! Just absolutely beautiful...nothing like a congregation singing praises to God. The only thing missing is a GREAT PIPE ORGAN in the background supporting this singing.

Brilliant brilliant singing, well done to all those involved, Love that hymn. If I may say, I think there is scope for the church to widen its appeal to the youth as well as all generations. There can't be much difference between singing hymns and singing pop songs, maybe the congregation could choose the tunes, sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond, Boney M, Fleetwood Mac, the Beatles, Elvis, there is vast back catalogue of tunes to choose from. And if you really want to go to town, and remember Man cannot live by bread alone, look at the popularity of strictly come dancing, if there is room in the church or church hall, not only singing but room for a dance hall. For people to meet in the church would be vastly superior to the naff internet dating. No doubt it couldn't all rely on peoples good will and charity to organise so for bigger events say once a month the church could sell tickets or just ask for donations to pay those that toil away in the back ground, surplus funds can go to good causes. My son's favourite tune at the moment is Come a little bit closer by Jay and the Americans, what a tune a what a tune to a ask one's new squeeze to dance to, now that would be Heaven on Earth. Amen.

Lord of All Hopefulness, I believe (the Slane tune) is used in the Lutheran Church ELCA for LBW Hymn 469.

Yes, That is because this is a BBC film production using a collection of UK church choirs, which since about 2000AD have become mostly older women, including the congregations and Pastors! Indeed, according to the 2021 census the UK is no longer officially a Christian land! Something for them to be ashamed of.
