As always, X-O-LENT spresentation, MG. And I agree with you re: size and # limits!! My feelings are 20-24" and 3-4 per person/12-15 boat limit. Over 25-30lbs... limit 2 per person/5-6 per boat.

They should up the length to that 27 to 28 inch range and lower the amount to 8 per person from 10 if you and a friend go out and catch 15 mahi that's a fine day

I have one of those 50's and cant find any left around the country. So I was seeing a lot about those Maxels OMS10 and OMS16? Thank you in advance! :)

I would smack someone hitting a fish on the floor of my boat with a bat. lol I don't want the fiberglass gelcoat damaged! That said, I have no problem if someone else choose to do so on THEIR own boat. It just isn't for me. Also, I never get damaged meat from them being in the box. Seems to me hitting them with a bat would cause much more damage to the meat. :)

What do you thing the regulations on dolphin be? I’d probably make it 5 fish at 25 in due to the fact that they mature so fast and they are doing so well numbers wise. I do agree that 10 fish is a bit high but the size limit is fine how it is but it would be nice to see a few bigger dolphin to be a more common

Hello. When trolling for mahi with a spinning rod 50lb braid and 30lb fluorocarbon leader using rigged ballyhoo with a skirt and a deep diving lure do I have to use any weight/lead aswell ? If so how much ? Trying to catch my FIRST mahi.

no, you do not need any weight with either of those. look for large patches of weeds, birds hovering on top of the weeds, etc. dont troll through the weeds, just along side. good luck.
