Coil cleaners are great for cleaning the radiator or AC condensers on your car. A word of advice my son, the chemist, gave me. After rinsing the coil cleaner out, use a spray bottle with about one part Dawn dishwashing soap to 10 parts water, and saturate those radiator fins with the mixture. This will neutralize the acids in the cleaner, that like to cling to the metal, so they won't continue eating on the aluminum/aluminum alloy of the radiator. Then rinse again with water.

Considering the obedient air temperature in Vegas the way that thing pulls is unbelievable. Very nice!! I do something similar with the condenser and radiator but I used just an APC, I didn't know there was a dedicated product, appreciate the tips Eben, enjoy the ride!

😃, yeah I never thought about it until I was cleaning the air conditioner and then I thought about the car and realized how many bugs there were back in Pennsylvania where I'm from. Fortunately here in Vegas there's not that many bugs 😄

Oh yeah she's coming around one step at a time..... We got some real tires coming in some small wheels to really get some bite. Also it's going to make a huge difference with the shocks in the wheel hub bearings for extra protection.

Good info! The same coil cleaner you would use on your outdoor A/C can clean the car condenser and rad. I like using Nucalgon Special HD Calclean. To have easier access to hosing off the rad and condenser, Thexton makes a special cleaning wand, #467A

@@Syntheticoilprotection I was until I sold my house 6 years ago and moved into a condo. No longer allowed to work on cars. Up here in Winnipeg, you want to use synthetic especially Amsoil for the cold start protection. We can easily have -30 to -40 winter temps. Synthetic in very hot weather also protects the engine. I have friends in Mesquite and St George who run Amsoil in their cars, trucks, motorcycles, and quads

Great video. Have a 2019 Mercedes X250d. Been looking for something like this, although we don't have Home Depot in Australia and I can't find this product. Anyway, looks like there might be some other options, like CRC, Mizu. I'll do a bit more homework! PS: nice SL550, not to mention that awesome Yank Tank in the background!!

Awesome yeah the great benefit to cleaning it is the better efficiency you can also get coil cleaner at any of your big box stores that clean the air conditioner is good simple green is great too biodegradable pet friendly it melts the bug guts in the car

Sweet, I wonder how much air flow it would disrupt that's the only concern because I live in Vegas in the blacktop temperatures are about 150° in the air temperatures about 108°, so it's a little sketchy if it cuts the airflow I'd rather just have bugs and clean the radiator every year LOL

It's a generic coil cleaner that's water soluble and it doesn't even need to be rinsed off. You can get it at any of the major hardware stores. It's specifically designed for aluminum radiators and it will not hurt plastic or anything else

It's a water-based coil cleaner I got it at home Depot and it's a foam and what it does is it pulls the junk up and out of the radiator and then when you hose it off at all falls to the ground. Another one you can also use is simple green simple green delaminates the film and all the tar and muck and mud and all the bug guts and it makes it really easy to get it out I also recommend simple green

Not trying to sound like a knowitall but I'm almost certain that's your ac condenser? Not radiator as its located behind it . Oil cooler in front. And not getting water through the condenser fins it really does nothing even with spray foam . Also why not take the front bumper off ? Not that many bolts .Also those foam chemicals will eat through plastics / paint and fade them greatly left on for a specific amount of time.

Great subtleties yes I agree the best thing to do is to just take it all off👍 And I found out the hard way with simple green on my yoga mat a really good degreaser and it just disintegrated the rubber. Yeah it's definitely good to hose everything off and make sure you don't leave any residue with any of those the greasers☕️👍 Have you ever tried Amsoil in your vehicles?

Eben... you are sleeping. Power Foam is much more effective when coils are HOT. It has been used as such for 40 years +..... especially on combine oil coolers..... water rinsing not required....Power Foam dissolves debris when HOT. Nice video nevertheless... Mercedes run SMOOTH with AMSOIL..... nothing in the marketplace comes even close...

Nothing like a cleaned airflow. Can't avoid them those bugs. They stick like blue glue and all that goo. Foam to get rid of the residue to the rescue.

@@Syntheticoilprotection Continuous Water Alcohol Injection, you can feel the extra thrust on take off on hot days or high altitude airports. I think it's only on Merlins though, or maybe CASA-212's or BE-100's but not on Conquests, Commanders or MU-2s or Cheyenne 400.
