Skywind Gameplay Demo - Necromancer in Mawia
Ойындар
What better way to celebrate Morrowind's 21st anniversary than with a fresh Skywind gameplay video?
"Necromancer in Mawia" follows the player as they act as an agent of the Tribunal Temple in the ash-choked region of Molag Amur. The mission is straight out of Morrowind, and should feel familiar to players of the original game, while also showcasing re-imagined assets, creative level design ideas, and more immersive dialogue and scripted sequences.
Skywind is a huge undertaking with lofty quality standards, and every single person involved is a volunteer working in their spare time. The team has roles available for people of all skill sets and levels, so if you think you might be able to help, please visit tesrskywind.com/volunteer to sign up.
Videos like "Necromancer in Mawia” take a colossal amount of work and co-ordination to put together, but they also accelerate development as we scramble to get every aspect of the video implemented and polished. Still, some keen viewers might notice gaps - missing dialogue, floating objects, or placeholders from Skyrim. There's space for extra contributors in a number of different roles detailed on our website, and we're always keen to welcome more team members to speed us on our way.

As one of the developers who worked at Bethesda for many years (I made the Dragons for Skyrim, Deathclaws for Fallout etc), I am SO PLEASED to see this. Morrowind was the game that first made me want to get a job at Bethesda. Totally weird, totally fascinating, totally different. What a masterpiece!

The tools are still too complicated (what i mean is, you have to have even basic knowledge of how data is stored on a computer, for example. How to edit ini files and so on...in times were everyone uses a smartphone, even that's too much for many ppl) but i hope with the grwoing use of AI we will get some tools, which are easier to handle, so that anyone could do a little mod here and there and telling his own story. I for myself, i learned coding back in school (Turbo Pascal, omfg) but never used it in my work life, i wouldn't even know how to start and i don't have the time to learn all the stuff needed to use the creation kit. @@paulkendrick4153 someone clearly doesn't know the impact it hat on release. As great as Skyrim is, calling skyrim better besides it being an absolutely senseless comparison is just fanboying on another level. Sure, in a technical viewpoint, it's better. But it would be a bad joke if it wasn't... Storytelling wise, I'd say Morrowind is far superior in that regard. Skyrim's story and other bigger quests are mediocre at best. Not much that's worth mentioning. markers lead you to everything, no finding out anything by yourself, riddles in dungeons are 9/10 times solved at first sight, the 3 voice actors that they use for every second NPC are... well... sometimes okay, sometimes terrible... And don't get me started with bugs... Let's be honest, without mods, Skyrim would be just another game out there that's good but nothing special. Not the singleplayer game that thousands still play to this day. You can thank the massive modding community for keeping Skyrim alive. Sure, Morrowind also has mods but the console versions never had mod support and Morrowind's modding community was way smaller than Skyrim's and even modders make content that's 1000 times better than anything made by bethesda. Just look at mods like Beyond Skyrim Bruma or the prime example Enderal. A whole new game that wipes the floor with skyrim in pretty much every way.

It looks wonderful, not just from a visual standpoint, but the spells, the armor and weapon descriptions, the skills… I didn’t play Morrowind so I’m not sure if all of that was already apart of the original game, but I love that it’s in the modded version. I can’t wait to play this! Oh! And the voice acting is phenomenal! AND the design team did a fantastic job! Everyone involved in this has done amazing!

so incredible. the voice acting is one of my favorite parts. well done!
This video captures the unique off-kilter atmosphere of Vvardenfell. The variety on display, from the landscaping, spells, textures and 3D objects, are a fine showcase of the various people working diligently on the project.

My jaw dropped watching this gameplay footage! I will tirelessly follow the updates for this masterpiece! Thank you!
Absolutely incredible work by everyone involved. Brings back so many memories of the first adventure into Morrowind - amazing
The voice acting is actually very impressive.
There is no praise great enough for the passion, hardwork, patience, skill, love, and teamwork you people have beought to bear to make this project a reality. On behalf of hopefully millions, I thank you.
The nostalgia is kicking me so hard right now. This looks beautiful.
The love and dedication really shows in every tiny detail!
Unbelievably hyped for this
I know it's been a long road, and there is still quite a ways to go, but what you, the Skywind team, has managed to pull off is simply breathtaking. You didn't have to recreate so much of what was already in Skyrim to do this project, but it does appear to be paying off in getting much closer to Morrowind than you'd be able to do otherwise. Lovely work all around.

"A long road". Yeah, as in this project traces its roots all the way back to 2006. Skywind will never be publicly released; it's DNF-tier bait.

Doubt Microsoft will let this be released to the public. Maybe they'll make a deal where Microsoft gets 80% of the profits or something

@@Demiurge13 My problem is that this team is a bunch of smug elitists that keep this in perpetually closed alpha status. I didn't lie, nor did I exaggerate how long they've been at this. This started with Oblivion's engine, it's that old. If truth and realistic expectations are my "problem", then it's a good problem to have.

@@FuzedBox hey now no need to get in a tizzy, I was just asking a sincere question. Don't assume that everyone knows their history. Couldn't they just want to wait and release a finished product though? As much as I would love to have whatever is done released, I know that there would be people that complain it's incomplete.
My god this looks beautiful! A renewed morrowind is what I've been waiting for! I hope you guys continue to work on this!
I love the door sounds, just like old morrowind! I'd love if that were ported to the chests, as well. The soundscapes of skyrim and morrowind are totally different, and for good reason.
I love so much how you guys have preserved/enhanced the original aesthetics while adding the new features. Big thanks to all the team, can't wait to play it!
Oh man, this has so much heart put into it! Those descriptions, this acting, this clutter! It feels like Enderal, only better!
Morrowind is my favorite game of all time. I just wanted to offer a very sincere thank you for this amazing work.

Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion all had unlock spells. I love Skyrim but they kind of dropped the ball when it came to spells. They removed way too many useful spells that were in previous games.

Man the art direction, lighting and voice over is looking soo good. It looks just as i remembered morrowind in my head, mysterious, an alien place. Now i am hyped for skywind than any other game coming in future.
The Dunmer voice acting is superb. The amount of effort put into this is visibly noticeable. Well done 👏🏼

Hopefully this mod will have the gear having their spells and buffs to cast. Was disappointed in Oblivion and Skyrim where all armor just had passive buffs.
I was 14 when I first played Morrowind and it blew my mind...I thank you for all of my flashbacks and nostalgia rush I just went thru... People that do remakes like this are Gods 🙌 ... Love ya all ❤️
Looks great, sounds great, feels great as well. I've had no idea you'd get this far. Congratulations!
I cant even begin to say how excited this video made me. I am beyond impressed.
I think the quality and consistency of the art direction is what impresses me most about Skywind. Lots of times total conversion mods will be either low quality or inconsistent in that department since you have a lot of cooks in the kitchen with their own ideas for how the game should look, but Skywind seems to have figured out how to get it done cohesively.
Always nice to get a glimpse at the progress you've been making!
It's insane how far this has come since it was first announced. Cannot wait for the finished product!
Just the first seconds of the *sandstorm* effect has me absolutely THRILLED!! And the interiors? The lighting? The *load screens* even? To see Morrowind get this kind of visual and auditory immersion to match the lore and environment is AHHHHHHH! I'm having all kinds of responses.
The compass looks fantastic! I mean, it ALL looks fantastic, but I'm pretty sure this is the first time y'all have showed off the compass! Vivec City is REALLY coming together nicely. Everything looks so great, huge progress with this update! Seriously can't wait for the official release!
