What fantastic control those trumpeters have in the upper register. All the time I was listening I was reminded of Softly As In A Morning Sunrise, it is a really great performance. I hope you are all keeping free of Covid 19 and are well

I heard hints of SaiaMS as well. Great composition and performance.
Wow.. Great performance. The two trumpeter ensembles are amazing, and as I always think, Brian McDonald' Double high c is just amazing. Clean and so tight.

Man, I wish this was on Spotify. I already love listening to “Spain”, “Groovin’ high” etc. by The Airmen Of Note. Then to add to that, Alan Baylock arranged this master piece. I absolutely love Alan Baylock’s songs/arrangements such as “El Abrazo”, “I Want to Be Happy”, And “Hey Jude.

Wow, the effortlessness those trumpet players have with the upper register is amazing! I wish i couod play like that, incredible embouchures and perfect tone

My dad brought me up listening to big band jazz. This brings back some great memoies. Thanks for sharing.

Just happened across this yesterday on FB but luckily found them on YT. My favourite band, hands down. Up there with Big Phat Band. The two should do a gig together!! These guys are at the top of the heap. I NEVER hear bad notes, intonation issues, syncopation errors or anything. Precise musicianship! ❤️ The first time I heard this band was a good 10-15 years ago when a buddy played me their arrangement of 'Over The Rainbow'. Suffice it to say I now have many of their albums AND if anyone wants to hear some pure genius arrangements, check out their 'Cool Yule' album. Perfect season right now.
These guys are the best. I listen to this all the time. Thanks Brian and Kevin. You guys rock!
Yikes! Great feature - love the teamwork and excitement in your playing, Brian and Kevin!
Just yet another reason to be proud of all of you that serve. God Bless you and thank you! For all you do!

Love the conny-sound!
Yow! Spectacular group. This is the first time I've heard them in a studio and they are something special.
Holy s*** that was incredible!!
💌
What a fantastic group. Reminds me of things Maynard use to perform. I am glad to see others carrying on the tradition of big bands with fantastic brass players. I don't mean to take away anything from the saxes, bass or percussion. You all really cook and are tight in your playing together. great work.
Astounding playing!

@@TheUSAFBand I was in S.A.C. band back in '66 - '69 and knew of one trumpet player who auditioned and became a member of the Airmen of Note in '68 or '69. I think his name was Smucker, can't remember his first name. I realize this is ancient history, but if you know anything about him or his whereabouts, please let me know. We also had Ramon Parcells in our band who later became first trumpet player in Detroit Symphony. Because of the war and their fear of being sent overseas, great musicians were rushing to signup with the military bands and orchestras.
So awesome
