Skyrim VR made me Better at Real Archery

Ойындар

Skyrim VR mods are what make the game playable. But the one feature Skyrim VR had going for it without any modding, was archery. I'm sure there are mods that make bows in Skyrim even better, but it's already fantastic. Just because it makes sense for VR. Using the Rift S controllers to mimic pulling the bow back and adjusting to aim feels great. So great, in fact, that I wanted to try out a real bow and arrow. Now we're here. I hope it made you chuckle, if you want to come play Onward/Pavlov tomorrow, here's the link: / habie347

Just so you're aware, I watch your videos on my TV, with my family, like they're episodes of Wandavision. My wife and teenage daughter spent five minutes debating whether the golf sounds in the last Skyrim video were added in Premiere or somehow modded in to Skyrim. When you clarified, my wife went "Aaaaaaah.!" to signify that she had "told her so". This time I started laughing when the metal went clang, and they both looked at me like a crazy person because they didn't understand you had IMMEDIATELY attempted to assassinate your phone after praying you wouldn't. These are just moments from my life I wanted to let you know about. I hope they are in some way nice to hear. I'm a stand-up comedian in my spare time, and I love it when audience members come up to me after shows to let me know some weird way that something I said made them feel, or related to their life. I'm trying to do that, but - via KZread.

Dude. I think you had a point at the end with the real bowstrings draw weight. I think you should try a better bow, maybe ask a friend to borrow one. But those cheap ass bows hardy have any draw weight and it makes them much less accurate than an average bow. You will get better scores and hit more bullseye's with a higher draw-weight bow, maybe a compound. It is possible to hit bullseye's with those cheapy recurve ones but the arrows travel so much slower with a higher margin of error. They're inconsistent unless you master it. .

  • @elliotalderson8358

Also Skyrim isn't the best for training cause that feature which makes your arms shake, it isn't exactly realistic and quite ruins the chance of precision accuracy unless you're like God at it. In real life it's all about feeling the shot and trying to recreate the same conditions as when you hit that good bullseye's 🎯.

When I eventually went to a local shooting range and shot one for real, I managed to hit the target with most of my shots, though I was taken off-guard by the recoil and the shell casings landing on my head (also had to clear a few jams). I like to sit places in skyrim/f4vr like on my balcony, hot tub, or even just like outside a city. Then open up a virtual desktop overlay the two and watch a show. Its nice just sitting at a table in my home watching people ingame just walk around. Set the timescale to a more realistic number to not feel like "the dragonborn that has been sitting still for 7 days" and just take in the surroundings while you watch some movie. Bonus points if you pick an area that suits the movie. Extra bonus points if you pause your movie angrily to defend a settlement or something. Adds a level of immersion that is just so WOW. If you have a mod that gives your followers jobs or other such this can be a great way to pass time. If i ever get it working the build your own market stall mod would be an AMAZING addition to this.

It's the same for me in VR golf and reality. I got 100yrds in real life with any club and get exactly the same result in VR.

if you stood a bit further back IRL archers paradox would've put those mostly centered! archery is oddly relaxing for something thats semi stressful lmao. two weeks irl shooting I bet your grouping goes to 2 inches instead of 4

I've modded Skyrim VR with 4-5 differant combat mods that makes combat pretty fun. Something I noticed playing Onward is that my skills with a pistol improved substantially.

I've just started reaching back and re-watching some of the back catalogue. It's been long enough I've mostly forgotten them other than the broad subject, and I'm exhaling sharply all over again. Editing is insanely good, and you haven't improved a bit since then (because you didn't need to). (Real talk I don't know if you were on the every week upload schedule back then, but these older ones FEEL like they were baked longer to me. We'll all still love you if you decide to slow it down a tad)

Hey, If you didn't know and to everyone else that plays Skyrim VR. There is an update for HIGGS that allows for 2 handed melee combat. It's a bit funky, but you can finally grab a greatsword with two hand and also half sword.
