Marked For Death is Ebony Warrior's kryptonite and since you're playing without patches, the shout does 75 armor damage *per second* , instead of damaging 75 armor for *seconds* . And it will keep damaging armor until negative values causing him to take even more dmg and it's *permanent* . Also this affects the player character too, I suggest everyone to install the Unofficial Patch otherwise you'll have to remove the debuff with console everytime it happens.

You're right! It's a really weird bug. I avoid the Unofficial Patch vor several reasons (too many changes, and SE versions aren't available anymore officially, but I still play SE), but it's a good tip in general. I'll pin your message so others will be aware of the issue!

Just install a patch that makes you immune to Marked For Death or use console commands to remove the effect. (Your armor value will be negative for the rest of your game)

@@lSlendermaster Draugr Death Overlords were supposed to have this shout, it's technically cut content (soundfiles of them shouting can be found in the game files). There is a standalone mod that gives them the shout back but also brings the previous issues I have already said. Fun Fact: The Nightbringer actually has the unused Draugr voiceline for Ice Form! (Also cut content)

But now I'm wondering why he's not using the voice for Marked for Death as well. It would be perfect, right? 🤔

I almost always choose the more consistent outcome for the actual battle (in this case, a relatively close victory for the Ebony Warrior because that was the average result). 😄 I'm glad you liked it! 🥳

It's because the Marked for Death shout used to be glitched. Otherwise, he wouldn't stand a chance against the Ebony Warrior 😄

The way the Nightbringer almost always started the match by walking away was like "I think its pretty clear that i havent seen anything so ima out" xD Very interesting boss, hope to see stuff like this on the "Survival wave mode" ;) B)

The Nightbringer just wanted to go for a walk and always got harrassed by random NPCs! 😆 Do you mean as the protagonist, or an enemy in a wave? 🤔

Was suprised to see how strong the Nightbringer is compared to the Ebony Warrior. With how high the latter's armor rating and HP are, it speaks volumes on the former's damage output That being said, they seem to basically be around equal; making it a coin toss as to who wins each individual round.

That's right! The Nightbringer can use the Marked for Death shout, which is a huge debuff even for the Ebony Warrior. I've done quite a few tests between those two, and the Ebony Warrior won more often, but he can also go down very quickly as seen in the bloopers! 😎

👏👏👏 I loved this so much! Thanks for featuring my mod, bro! I started to think he was too OP until that Ebony Warrior fight. Glad to know that they're pretty even. I need to do something about Marked For Death, though. I didn't realize it was that bugged. I was thinking of just removing the shout from him but apparently the shout has been patched (in 2022)? Provides a challenge even for more experienced players, but he's not ridiculously overpowered like many other modded creatures. I also like the wide range of spells and shouts you gave him. Very well done! I'm actually still playing the SE version, so I don't have that patch and can't confirm that. 😅 If you want to fix him independently of that patch, i suppose you could make a separate, unique Marked for Death for the Nightbringer which doesn't have that issue? I definitely think he should keep the shout in general because it's an awesome addition that fits him! 😄

Wow, that is an awesome enemy! The nightbringer literally looks like death itself (Grim Reaper) and wow he dominated everyone up until the ebony warrior showed up and, well it's no surprise the Ebony Warrior came out on top once again, even against a demon-like enemy that looks like death, and apparently the ebony warriors health sucks when hit with the marked for death shout, the blooper with the nightbringer flying sky high due to the unrelenting force shout was hilarious, Awesome Video!

I agree, it's a really cool opponent! The Marked for Death shout used to be glitched, continuously reducing the target's damage resistance over time, which is why even the Ebony Warrior can die eventually. This mechanic has been fixed with the AE update (which I didn't have when I made this video). And thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! 😎

That's exactly what happened! Episodes solely focusing on dragons are difficult in several ways. Most dragons have a lot of health and fly around too much, leading to a very long fight. Let alone if there are two dragons. If I made that an episode, it would probably only have 1-2 rounds, and I'm not sure who would be fighting. The Ebony Warrior could easily deal with them 🤷

Marked For Death shout, it's bugged in vanilla Skyrim and reduces armor values into the negatives.

Welp. 😂 If it helps, I always choose the more consistent result. I already gave Vendil a higher aggression so he "sees" the Nightbringer first and can attack him early on, while the Nightbringer is still idle. Vendil can sometimes beat him, but even with the aggression "boost", he loses much more often. I noticed too, and I suppose the Nightbringer's darkness effect messes with the Keeper's head shader effect. That particular one is messy anyway. Nope, it was nothing intended 😂

@@lSlendermaster nope, it's a pretty obscure mod but adds a lot a content aside from some lore friendly enemies (Hammerfell Bandits, Silver Hand Witchers) and "author" made enemies (Man Eater Abominations, King Of Spiral) And let me tell you something, these enemies *may* give the Ebony Warrior a run for his money. And there's even "Secret" bosses!

Miraak does terribly against him, worse than you would expect. 😆 I felt like the other NPCs were more interesting to watch!

I don't have the experience to make a proper mod like this, and it would have to be really good, with the right animations and effects. I'm also not sure how I would balance that. Many modded creatures are terrible in that aspect, and I wouldn't want to make the same mistakes 😂

A modded creature with no level cap, so I match his level depending on his opponent, which also affects his HP 😄

This is the problem with mods, too many of these guys give these modded enemies the ability to shout which is lore breaking, that includes the Ebony warrior even if he's created by Bethesda.

Shouting isn't necessarily against the lore. Even Ulfric can do it. For non-Dragonborns, it's just a lot harder to learn, but by no means impossible. 😄I do agree that a lot of modded NPCs are way too strong though! And I am not entirely sure how the Nightbringer would have learned any shouts, to be fair.

I've thought about that, but I'm not sure which ones that would be. Dragon episodes are difficult anyway because they fly around a lot and have high health, making the fights very long so an episode would only have a few rounds 🤷
