    Im 50 and do not own a phone, all my family does but me, I had a phone and no one ever called me, so, Why have a phone. When I was a kid there was no such thing as cell phones and we all where happy then. Now, every one is always frustrated and hate filled and sad and mean. I on the other hand, is calm, easy going, I listen, I communicate with others all over and when I do they look at me like , What is he doing? I was down town the other day and looked at a lady walking down the side walk and I smiled and said hello, she looked at me like I was a Alien. From what I see a phone now is a zombie device.

    The real dystopian danger is actually the fact that they can now make it compulsory for you to carry a BLE enabled phone and if you don't, you go to jail. They'll say it's for your own safety, but it's really just to make you as unfree as possible. How might this work in practice? Well, you have face recognition and thermal imaging cameras everywhere, communicating with all the BLE chips in the vicinity. When the cameras spot somebody who doesn't have the mandatory snoop chip, they alert the nearby police drones, which begin to follow the target, or oder it to stop immediately, or disable it, or eliminate it, depending on the target's social credit score. Drones can be equipped with speakers, so giving orders is no problem. Drones can be equipped with tasers or tranquilizer darts, so disabling people is no problem. Tranquilizer darts can be replaced with poison darts or a small caliber pistol, so eliminating targets is easy. The severity of the drone's response would be decided by A.I. If the target turns out to be unidentifiable, the system would alert the actual human or robotic cops, who of course would apprehend the individual, find out his identity, find out all of his connections, arrest the connections, interrogate them as well and exterminate all whose stories do not add up. This Robo-Gestapo could already be established with existing technology. Of course, things like shopping, entering buildings, crossing 15 minute city boundaries, using public transportation, operating a vehicle or even an E-bike would require a BLE enabled phone with the required authorizations on it, so nobody could even get out the door without one, but if somebody did, the system would immediately know it and conclude the target is either a criminal or a resistance member. Either way, the consequences will be terminal, because that's how a totalitarian society rolls.

    @@batmanofinglewood Look up the truth and quit pushing lies. Better still, read the truth about the failed litigation grifter below. An old hoax that the lucrative "Matrix" and "Terminator" film franchises forked over billions of dollars to a woman who claims they ripped off her work. "Sophia Stewart wrote books in the 70s that were stolen from her by Warner Bros. (Terminator 1-4 & The Matrix 1 & 2!)" a Sept. 29 Instagram post said. "Her lawsuit took 30 years but she won Hollywood's biggest lawsuit, $2.5 Billion." The lawsuit is real, and Sophia Stewart, a writer and paralegal, continues to maintain that the films were based on her ideas. But her case was long ago dismissed, with no such $2.5 billion settlement - not in 2004 when the rumor was first shared, and not now. The Instagram post was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Facebook.) On her website, where she describes herself as "The Mother of the Matrix," Stewart claims that she answered a magazine ad in 1986 that said Andy and Larry Wachowski (who would go on to direct the Matrix films and now go by Lilly and Lana Wachowski) were seeking science fiction stories to be made into a comic book. She said she submitted her story "The Third Eye," but never heard back and her manuscript wasn’t returned. After seeing "The Matrix" in 1999, Stewart claimed that she recognized themes and characters from her story and said the same of the "Terminator" films. She filed a lawsuit in 2003 against several defendants including the Wachowskis, "Terminator" director James Cameron, producers Gale Anne Hurd and Joel Silver, Warner Bros., and 20th Century Fox. She accused them all of copyright infringement and racketeering, and sought over $1 billion in damages. The case was dismissed in June 2005 after the judge ruled that Stewart and her attorneys had failed to produce evidence to support her claims and did not demonstrate a striking similarity between her work and the films. She later filed another lawsuit, this time against her attorneys who represented her in the case, accusing them of breach of contract and malpractice, among other things. In 2014, the judge ordered that she was entitled to $316,280 stemming from the costs and attorneys fees in the copyright infringement suit.

This does not require internet... it communicates directly back to central computers through the power lines digitally. It is beyond dystopian. Recently in the video game tech sphere, the Star Citizen developers revealed their new technology, Server Meshing, it allows a server to process the data of a specific virtual region of space, eg; one server handles the HUB where players meet up and trade, there is another server that runs the exterior of that HUB, the outside of it, then another server to run the city that HUB building is in. This actually allows for really powerful scaling of server hardware based on demand in a particular node as well. The technology, while applied to a video game, could easily be used in real life, eg; a server is responsible for mapping the entirety of a city to AI drones and sending coordiantes to those drones, each city block has another sub-server processing all the intricate street-level data and sending the relevant bits to the AI drones far more efficiently than say, a single master server could handle. The reason this is such a big deal is because prior to this technology becoming reality, most video games (and most client-server models) rely on a single very powerful server unit, acting as a master server that is the ultimate god of decision on all things to do with its task. This new technology allows many different servers to form a cloud network between each other and to smartly handle the data per-server reducing the load on each machine as well as the overall cost to run the set up. Gone are the days where you need a 7Ghz processor to crunch all that vast server data, hello to the days of 2Ghz many cores over a cloud. Video games also overcame the issue of detecting human shapes in the real world through depth-testing and shape-pattern recognition. EG; Microsoft XBox 360 Kinect is a good example of the technology in its infancy. I have since used the same concept personally with certain VR projects to warn players of walls/objects they might hit in their space, I've seen other people use it to great effect with Augmented Reality projects. Some of the first general artificial intelligences that will be able to 'see' the real world will likely build off this depth-testing technology video games produced. Shame everyone sees games as a toy. And while I, as a programmer and gamer am super excited about all this tech, the sad reality is only the people who will misuse this technology (eg; use it against us the people) are willing to invest in tthe technology, the rest of you all see it as a waste of time because its 'video games' Most of the investors in video games are actually just corporate greedy people who are self interested and want to use the industry to print free money, there are some really bad actors though using the industry to problem solve some of the biggest issues we have, human interface to machine.

    Tracking schemes like this open up HUGE OPPORTUNITIES for someone to manufacture a phone, that either: 1. Only has a cell radio for telephone calls/SMS (no camera, no GPS, bluetooth/wifi, etc.) 2. Has mechanical switches on all radio chips/microphones/cameras 3. Has a built in mechanical lens cover (LOL, it's a joke, but there's no way to hack a mechanical lens cover by radio). There's also an opportunity for someone to develop a daughterboard phoneback (case replacement) that adds mechanical switching capabilities to a particular pre-existing phone. Of course, you would probably have to send the phone in, to have the replacement case installed, with the new one that has the daughterboard. This is just a fundamental part of free market economics -- when the market goes too far in one direction, they open up their flank to get 'killer-apped'. They're actually creating demand for the opposite of their product. Of course, that means they will try to rely on monopoly, but the market is known to be quite clever.

    "3. Has a built in mechanical lens cover (LOL, it's a joke, but there's no way to hack a mechanical lens cover by radio)." All you need is a camera case that has mechanical lens covers built in for both front and rear cameras. Alternatively, make a cover with tape and affix it to your camera.

    low watt personal jammers within the appropriate frequency range that can be turned on/off as needed would certainly help, and, stronger output jammers (1-2watts) that run from your car, motorcycle etc would help too, especially if traveling from city to city,... for example.

    People are making their own mesh networks too, that's pretty awesome

  • @jmr
    @jmrАй бұрын

    Well I somewhat agree with Rob I wouldn't call this a mesh network. It's a series of gateways with very limited bandwidth. There are no self healing properties in the network infrastructure like you would have with a mesh network. The gateways still need internet at this point too. I don't think they have even implemented store and forward so deadzones are still deadzones.

    A Faraday Bag is very nice if you're going out to dinner and need an "accessory" to match the colour of your shoes or shirt. Otherwise, it is completely pointless because AI can "fill in the gaps" of what you did in between the times you take the phone out of the bag to use it. De-Googling is the only safe option - apart from not having a phone in the first place.
