Skylanders (for me at least), was basically that one thing I knew about as a kid and then forgot about it a few years later. Then I just never saw or heard anything about it again until now. I never played skylanders or had any of the toys, but I saw this video and was like "Oh yeah, I remember that. I wonder what happened to the franchise."

As a kid I never realised these "bad" things in Trap team and all the other games, cause I didn't care I was just having fun. My favorite was always trap team cause in my opinion the franchise had it's biggest downfall after that. I didn't need mutch content to be satisfied as a kid, so I could just probably play the skylanders games as mutch as i want, cause I never get bored of them. This is why I still play for instance Plants vs zombies Garden warfare till this day, because I don't need more content to have fun. idk must be just me, but I'm kinda happy that I'm like this. this way I can enjoy everything longer!

Garden warfare 1 and 2 are still really good.

Skylanders is probably somewhere in my top 3 video game franchises of all time. The concept alone is just awesome. Seeing my toys come to life in a video game felt like magic back in 2011 and I have so many great memories with this series. It's such a shame Activision had to milk it dry and leave it to die, like they do with all of their successful franchises.

I never played skylanders but I knew about it, its pretty sad how developer companies focus more about the money than the game itself, and try and rush the games as much as possible to obviously, MAKE MORE MONEYYYY

Most of the games didn’t have many bugs and worked well but trap team has a lot of bugs in it but unless you are playing the Wii version there isn’t any game crashing bugs.

Funny enough, I could see the greed behind Skylanders since the first game was released. And it wasn't because Activision was behind it, but because the simple idea of selling a game that couldn't be played until you also bought a bunch of toys you'd probably buy otherwise sounded greedy AF.

The greed for the game I will have to say truly started in trap team because you need to trap masters, which were like 20 bucks at the time in stores I believe, and you can get them online for 50 bucks😅

My assumption for swap force coming out 2 years after spyros adventure is that in one of the scrolls from SA you could read something about the elemental beings. Meaning: The first three games were planned before skylanders spyros adventure released

Bruh I remember how much I loved this franchise my sister and I would both play with the toys when we couldn't play the game. my parents and I agreed that we should stop after the third game (which I beat pretty fast for being in high elementary / starting middle school) and money. But also because we were also interested in Disney Infinty too so after that year we just gave up on toys to life for good. until I started collecting amiibo.

That put the toy in game thing, I remember wanting it so much for angry birds Jenga or something

Well, i didn't even know such thing existed I remember hearing the name "Skylanders" somewhere, but didn't paid much attention, because the only thing i cared about back then were Tanki Online and how to get GTA V

I’m still collecting these guys, but I don’t know if it’s bad that I have like 380 of these guys lined up on my bookshelf lol

Also, they did not give the kids' (or their parents') wallets time to breathe xD "Mom, can I have this new skylanders game and a lot of toys?" "We bought you one last year you can still play, it's the same thing" "Fair enough" No one could keep up with the rate those games were coming out

My favorite Skylander is Drill Sergeant because drill hands and cannon head is awesome.

I played the OG skylanders and liked it, I played skylanders Giants and liked it even more, but by the third game i lost interest as i suppose i grew up a bit, and my old skylanders weren’t compatible with the newer games.

I loved this franchise to death. but got on really late. by the time i got giants Trap Team had already come out. i got giants fro christmas back then. played it to death with friends. then got swap force and reluctantly trap team. enjoyed both of those to. sadly i don't own spyro's adventure but, i might change that. I don't know. Maybe i will get it only to finally lay that little child to rest that wanted to play it. But never got that chance.

I’ve always liked skylanders it was such good games and I’ve even played to the mobile game

How would you guys rank the skylander games, because I stoped at giants back in 2012. Id like to go back and try the others.

Urgh i wondered how they Massacred the Design of Spyro... I mean Spyro had a pretty bad time before, with the "Legend of Spyro" Trillogy... They had so many options with Spyro... I feel like there is a huge decline in Gaming... Btw i never played Skylanders because i was sure there is something off.

Skylanders whole gimmick is the toys they couldnt go back from that But they had to make more for each game And then they added the elemental gates and shiz And the problem is People complain it locks content behind a pay wall But if they had to little content for buying a figure then it would be called a scam But Then if they have to much locked behind a figure then it's called a scam So that itself could never be fixed Either way tho I think it's cool to have figures of in game characters And out of all the games Skylanders trap team was my favorite and honestly it's straight up disgusting that people just say "Oh it's buggy so it's bad" maybe it's because people don't make this stuff themselves but the music models and textures were amazing not to mention kaos had the same boss theme but remixed for each game which was cool and to go along with that the story was nice not the most creative but nice It did have problems like not being able to reset traps or creation crystals but over all It was possible to use a PC or Wii to reset them Along with that you criticized the design of traps but it's not like they could have made a figure of the Villian Then it would be one trap per Villian and then you would claim it's more greedy The real reason it failed was because of how meny clones that popped up I mean think about the amount of people that played Skylanders at the time every time some new version popped up like Disney infinity or Lego dimensions more people split between them as not everyone can play every one of them that would be insanely expensive so normally people would just pick one It's more the greed of other companies trying to cash in on it that killed it And the only reason you find the old games better is simply because you were younger and enjoyed them more they are all glitchy and repetitive but nostalgia blinds anyone

No, your wrong giants Were made at the same time ssa came out then shifter started getting mad when battlegrounds came out, and the trap team was made a couple months after shifters. The supercharger was already getting made when trap team came out and they spent about 8 months on imagination
