Sky Island Serenity: Trail Camera Videos of Arizona Wildlife

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

This is one of my recent spots that has been on fire with animal activity. In just two weeks, this trail camera had several hours of videos of animals using this pool. I'd like to think I simply found a gem of a spot, but the drought is driving animals to congregate at the few available water sources. Hopefully the monsoon season kicks off soon. Thanks for watching.
Location: Southern Arizona
Camera: Browning Recon Force Advantage
Update: We received record rainfall this summer so the animals were able to spread out and use other water sources. It's It's made getting videos harder, but that's fine with me.

    Never having used a trail cam kzread.infoUgkx2sTDdZXomuxedMg_HothfjSXjR3rpPkA before, I was very impressed with the quality of the images and videos. The sensitivity of the camera can be adjusted as well as the length of video recordings. Once I found the sweet spot, I was getting great clips of deer and other animals almost every day. I was worried about battery life but have been running off the same 4 aa batteries for over a month. The SD card is easy to remove and connect to a computer. I have a Mac, and the AVI files open natively in QuickTime and are easy to save and share. This is a great, budget-friendly trail cam.

    106 degrees F and the bear settles into the pool. Fantastic ... with that fur coat I would think so !! Was surprised no mountain lion showed up. And what are the long tailed long faced animals? And the small ring tailed ones? Never knew they existed in the US.

    @@Michael.Outside I encountered a mountain lion and her two very young and very small cubs years ago down an off-the-beaten-path area of the Prison Camp Road area of Mt. Lemmon. She was drinking water in a wash and they were tucked away in a bush on the edge of the wash. After an intense stare down with her (which lasted for what seemed forever) she slinked up the side of the wash and hid behind some manzanita trees. So once I realized that she was afraid of me, I continued walking along the side of the wash. When I got even to the area where she had been drinking, her two cubs jumped out of a bush just to my left and just sat there at my feet looking up at me and blinking. It was simultaneously the cutest and most horrifying thing I’ve ever witnessed in my life. Usain Bolt would’ve been hard pressed to catch up to me. I was GONE! 💨 I just forwarded a link to this video to a good friend of mine who goes frequently up to Mt. Lemmon. Good stuff.

  • @Michael.Outside

    @Michael.Outside

    2 жыл бұрын

    I try to train for the heat. I work out (running, weights, yoga) and I started running in the heat a few months ago before the worst of it arrived. I wouldn’t recommend most people do that if they aren’t in shape and used to the temperatures. I try and get used to performing physically when it’s very hot before I go outdoors. That being said, I’m still fairly careful. I always have snacks and more water than I think I need. I also tell family members where I’ll be hiking in case I don’t come back. And there are certain conditions I just won’t go out in. I try to stay in the mountains where it’s a little cooler and shaded too.

    Your first question: Coati. Your second question: Ringtail cat. The deer do look thin, but realize they never get plump like the white tails you’re probably used to. These are coues deer, an elfin deer species and a subspecies of whitetail. Thanks for watching and asking questions!

    This is in the United States of America 🇺🇸 The long tailed orange animals are coatis. The animals with shorter bushier tails are Ringtails (Ringtailed cats). Which birds are you asking about? There are some quail and Gould’s turkey in this video. Also a hummingbird and possibly some I forgot about (Mexican Jays perhaps). Thanks for watching.
