Wanna improve in music production and sound design? letsynthesize.teachable.com/courses
Everybody's shouting out the sound design chops demonstrated here which is very impressive, but even more impressive to me is the ear training Dan demonstrates in this one. The ability to listen and identify components of a track well enough to then apply the sound design techniques to recreate those component sounds within sounds, and to do it this well, takes a LOT of hard work and dedication over the years. Really speaks to Dan's passion for his work. Well done Dan.

yes and no. in terms of base sound design composition, yes it came very close. i think to label it as 99% accurate is incorrect though, there were plenty of details that were missed. in the OG there were more harmonics in the base, the snare vocal reverb tail was more filtered. that first base was more pronounced. still a very impressive remake nonetheless

To have that 1% I think you should double the main hihat, put one channel fully panned to the left and the other to the right to give it that stereo touch and apply a little delay to one of the two and maybe saturate the kick a little more

@@Letsynthesize that was really good, thanks for sharing! Great performances by all of you guys. Nice harmonies, I love duets.
Great stuff Dan, absolutely obsessed with this track rn. Different workflows obviously, but I'd personally group the main elements of the drop bass and use the M4L LFO to control the overall dynamics of the sound (verb, saturation, subbass articulation etc). Yours seems a bit more expansive and brighter, which isnt bad at all, just the original sounds more subdued and gritty.

I think the main thing that no one or myself isn't getting (you're extremely close) is the more hollowed out pop sound-transient or reverse kick sound that precedes the actual body of the kick. It's the difference between a helicopter sound vs. that pop/reverse kick sound. There's also some swing and then some FM modulation accentuated on every 3rd note for a difference in pitch. Also, light reverb around bass G# that helps give it a rolling bass sound.

making tutorials on KZread isn't a race to see who gets there first, its a marathon of who can take the time to show us the path you traveled to reach the finish line... slow down and make less hard cuts when you edit your videos. some of the parameters you are showing us maybe had 5 frames before to jump forward with no explanations. I've never spent more time pausing and rewinding a youtube tutorial in my whole life. lol. You clearly know synthesis, now practice becoming a better instructor instead of rushing a video out for the algorithm..
