Skopje, North Macedonia - One of the most underrated cities of the Balkans, Skopje was truly the greatest surprise out of my adventures around the Balkans. From the many statues surrounding the city to its incredible historic old town and fortress, this city has so much to offer and it has quickly become one of my favorite cites in the Balkans. Please only use the name Macedonia. Our name was forcefully changed to north Macedonia and we don’t recognise the word “north” here. Macedonia was never Greek and Alexander himself was Macedonian and not Greek. Don’t let the Greek and Bulgarian propaganda confuse you.
Skopje is very pretty city. Skopje and Ohrid were both capitals of the First Bulgarian Empire.

Absolutely wrong. They had nothing to do with Bulgaria just like the Bulgarian empire had nothing to do with actual Bulgarians.
North Macedonia and ancient Macedonia are two different things. Don't let the name fool you.
